08' Nytro RTX 40th Anniversary - Stretched
I have my Chain case all apart on my 08' RTX and I am confused about whether I am suppose to have the thin o-ring behind the brake rotor spacers or not? Ulmers thread on track swap clearly shows that the sled had reverse and has the o-ring shown in the picture below.

My sled was stretched to 144" so it has had the chain case taken a part atleast once before. I do not remember seeing an o-ring when I took it all a apart. Looking in my Yamaha service manual it only shows the o-ring on a Nytro without reverse. Trying to determine if I need this o-ring or not????

However, I do now see the o-ring in the Yamaha micro fiche. It is #51 below?????? Dang. G.B

Yeah that and the o-ring is so thin I didnt see it when I looked into the spacer. I didnt find it until I stuck my finger in the spacers and it came out on my finger when I pulled it out. I could just be blind, LOL. G.B.

Yup its needed. I have taken nytro chain cases apart many times and its a part that can easily be lost or not seen when taking everything apart.

Man, your picture is identical to the same one I posted 2 or 3 months back...asking the exact same question...lmao. Could not figure where that little bugger of an O ring came from as it was just sitting on my case when I was about to reinstall it all back together. Looked up the parts fiche and was still confusing. Posted it here with the same question, and 20 mins later had my answer....great site eh??

The picture I posted was from Alan Ulmers thread on track swap. I could not find the o-ring in my chain case when I took it apart nor could I find it in my Yamaha service manual for the chain case with reverse. So I was questioning whether my sled should have one. I ultimately found it in the large spacer behind the brake rotor. Yep great people on this site! G.B.
