Fuel relay sticking in cold weather fix

Just as an FYI everyone out there who has had their machine not turn over due to the fuel relay sticking in colder weather. I believe this is anyone who owns a yammy and their weather gets below zero. I brought the yammy relay over to Napa and we cross reference their relay to a Napa relay which I have changed out with both my Fx nytro and 11 apex se and have tested in temps as low as -40 below farenheit with no issues. The part number is ech-ar614. It cost about 10 bucks. Quick fix.

Which relay is the one that we have issues with? I had issues this weekend on two straight mornings. First morning it was around -22 F below. Thanks and will try the napa parts

On my 06 the relay is located in the left hand foot well. From what I have read here over the years. Part location can vary. On mine it is the far left relay while sitting on the sled. I pulled each relay one at a time, turned key to run position, until I could not hear the fuel pump run. I have had no problems yet but carry a spare on the sled.

i also am now carrying a yamaha updated spare. have not had any problem yet though.

I first located the fuel pump relay on both our sleds by pulling one relay at a time. Then I positioned it on the outside left position to access easier if and when required. I have a spare I carry also, but not the updated one mentioned here. Didn't know about that until now.

Guys reading this may have also experienced frozen fuel pumps. We've had it happen several times on cold mornings. Simple (and hopeful) fix is to drop the sled a few times this has worked to release stuck pump! You may try cranking while dropping too as this has worked. OH YEAH, I MEAN DROPPING THE REAR 'CAUSE LIFTING THE FRONT IS NOT FRIENDLY ON YOUR BACK!

Easier yet, if you carry a bottle of water like I do... Last year my son's 08 nytro would not start (in the middle of no-where). I dumped the water on the relays and it cycled and fired right up.

I was referring to the pump not the relays like moisture freezing up the actual pump. Do the elecrical relays actually freeze? I just replaced mine a few weeks ago.

I have had two times this year when I turned the key the fuel pump cycled but when I went to turn it over all I got was a "click" and the yellow light came on!! Is this relay issues or something else??? Usually after a bit it would start but I want this thing FIXED!!!

Had the same issue two mornings in a row. Turn key and no pump cycle, just click. Dropping sled no help. Stole relay from another sled in garage and no more trouble!

I think I mis read your post. mine would crank but no fuel.
Sounds like you may need a starter relay (hopefully)
if not maybe something more serious I.E. starter.

It seems that it won't start at 5 degrees and below---but warmer temps it don't have a problem soo hopefully starter relay---which one is the starter relay?? Same part#@ NAPA???

On mine, the fuel pump relay is closest to tunnel. Three of the four relays there are the same part #. the second from left is different.I'm not sure which is the starter. Do like I did (if possible) and borrow someone elses relays. Thats free and easy!
