Hi guys I have a 13 xtx with ulmers
Hi-Flow mbrp Header, FX Nytro Hi-Flow Intake, CR10EK Spark Plugs, Nytro Stage 1 Clutch Kit FX Nytro Power Commander 5 as well as a skinz ultra q pipe. Should I just sell the pipe and header and buy a full Exhaust? If so which one or just keep what I have?

I don't see why you would look at anyone elses but Excells, especially since you're in NY..

Thats what I was thinking as well. But still about a 4 hour drive for me. I'm just mainly trying to see if it's worth it how much hp would. I gain over my current setup?

Excell admitted their exhaust can result in you getting the NY noise ticket and a forced to fix it ticket. Last year we got checked on the tug hill 3 times and the officer wanted to see the muffler all 3 times on my buddies IQ turbo. He was dangerously close with a stocker to being over on the dB meter. They're getting pretty ridiculous with this BS around here.

You already have a full exhaust essentially. I doubt you will gain more than 2 horsepower but swithing to an excell or hindle. I could be wrong tho. But you probably wouldnt even notice the difference. Well, youll notice the noise, and your wallet will be lighter.

Only way to go is Hindle because it remove the flex joint and exhaust donut.
I have it since last 2 winter and only thing to do is a repack this year.
Maybe add some protection into the tunnel to protect the header from ice blocks.
But this is a common problem with the nytro.

I have been riding the hill and surrounding areas, been through a zillion check points..They never bother me..My riding buddy has a bone stock 2011 assault, he had to open his hood twice last year while I was with him.. Its very obvious my exhaust is not stock just by looks alone.. But I never get bothered.. Most two stokes stock are louder than my nytro, my buddies doo 800 is loud as fawk when he is on it..

Our checks were in Winona, right up Watts from the parking lot, just over the crest of the hill so they were hidden. They were metering sleds coming up the hill and pulling aside those they wanted to inspect. The fact that you have gotten past on the Hill you should credit to luck, laziness, or that they wanted to grab the big fish for SWI's.
A sidebar discussion with DEC reps for the trail system 2 weeks ago hinted that there will be a larger presence of trail riding LEO's this year (NYS bought 75 more F9's), increased ticketing for noise and speed, and a MUCH harder stance on SUI's and SWI's. They are moving steadily to a stance of stock only exhaust except on personally owned private property. This year also brings in a tighter dB level at the 4m mark, they are dropping it 4 dB (from 88 max at 4k to 84dB at any RPM up to Manf. redline as determined by the on site LEO). Ultimately they are going to hit people over the head with this existing section of the law:
"No snowmobile shall be modified by any person in any manner that shall amplify or otherwise increase total noise emission to a level greater than that emitted by the snowmobile as originally constructed, regardless of date of manufacture."
I.e.: They have a spec sheet from the early seventies to today of what the stock exhaust for that sled was tested at for dB's stock, if you have a system that is not stock, and that system displays at any RPM a dB level higher than the listed stock number, your getting a fix-it-ticket minimum, state coffers say your also get a non-compliance ticket for which the minimum you can get out of is a court surcharge after the ticket is tossed out (tug hill communities are about 35-75 depending on the court. Here in Syracuse, cicero trails, that's 75 all day in clay or salina, and since they get to keep the monies chances of your ticket being dismissed are darn near zilch)
In 2018 brings in a tie from recreational vehicles to motor vehicles for SWI and SUI being reclassified and enforced as DWI and DUI. Get caught drinking on a sled, atv, PWC, boat, etc. and you get the same penalties and charges as if you did it in a car, license points, felony charges, the whole shabang.
NY is bringing the fun back to the sport, more tickets, higher taxes.....

I ride out of Winona and Happy Valley too, those are both my drop spots.. I don't chalk it up to luck or laziness..My opinion is the Excell system in not loud..It sounds good, it works for sure, but it's not loud by any means..I dont even worry about check points..It's really a non issue for me and my EX who also has the full system on her nytro..Like I said we have been through a zillion check points over the years.

Maybe I will. Keep. What I have cause it's not too loud and don't have to worry about getting in trouble. If I were to gain 8hp or something by it I would really think about it but I think I'll put the $1k + into something else on the sled

Little off topic I know. But the cops in NYS drive turbo cats? Thats crazy. The ones here are all on fan cooled sleds usually. I wonder how many of those get crashed a year on the taxpayers dime. Also, when theyre spending 15grand or so on each sled, thats alot of tickets they will have to give out to recoup those kind of costs.
