I put Yamaha's Sport Bumper and Flotation plate kit on this fall on my 09 XTX with powder hound skis. I got to use it this weekend up in the UP on the TY ride.
The plate and bumper are a quality kit, with good instructions and hardware.
The new bumper is much stronger and wieghs about the same. The sled is alot easier to move around with the bigger bumper, especially when you get stuck.
The plate works great for floating the front end and deeper powder was no problem. The only this is you must cut out the bottom as the instructions show. I ommitted this part and ended up filling the plate with snow and ice to the point that the clamps broke and it looked like my sled was going to have a baby. I removed a bowling ball size chunk of ice and rode the rest of the weekend with it off.
I will let you guys know how it works with the holes cut in after my next ride but so far I am pleased with the kit.
