Whats good of having handling and a good riding sled if its always in the shop. But I dialed my sled in and it rocks!!!

I never said they werent reliable at all, its just hard to be yamahas reliability. There are several 800rs in my area with over 7000 miles an no issues. I may have one in my stable next week, Im not paying 14000 for a yamaha.

You also have a great dealer in Fort Kent. Frank is the best. I bought my supercharged Sea-doos from him. I still ride my 07 Yamahas though

Maybe in 2011 they will put the new 800 etech in the mxzx rs now that would be one bad sled!

If there is a trail that has 1-2 foot moguls on it,Which sled would you take Nytro or XP?

a phazer rtx

There's more XP's on the trail so I would say you'll see more problems than the Yamaha's. Just go ride an XP at a dealer up north and see if you like it. I know the dealer in Curtis MI has demo sleds to test ride. I'll be silent for now on the durability of both sleds until I see what let go on my Nytro last night.

I have an 08 RTX and my brother bought a 600 etec xrs. I got to ride it last weekend. Decent sled but I wouldn't trade my nytro for it. 1st thing I don't like is the seating position. You sit on the sled compared to in it on our nytro. You definitely have to be an active rider because of it. It seems tippy if you aren't leaning hard in the corners when rode hard. Don't get me wrong, the nytro has to be ridden aggressively as well, but it feels better to me when you are sitting on it. Secondly, I like the shock package on my RTX better. It seems to be stiffer for the moguls. We have both of them set in the middle for compression and rebound. I bet the SE's shocks are even better than my 08 RTX.

They are better,I am going to get the Hygear suspension kit

If you do an old search I did a couple reviews of the Nytro and XP. Last year I owned both an 800R XP X model and Nytro RTX.

Both have there pluses but I personally like the Nytro better. Now if Cat comes out with their 800HO in the Sno Pro chassis that will be the sled for me in addition to the Nytro. Off trail and in tight twisty trails the XP will out handle the Nytro.

The sno pro racer chassis is by far better then the XP or Nytro in the bumps. I have owned every brand over the last 2 years and I consider myself very unbiased.

put 550 miles on the last 4 days up in northern minnesota with a 09 800r xp x and I was pretty impressed. It had a 1.75 ripsaw track and was geared down 1 tooth...Talk about wheelies!! That thing would stand right on its tail and catwalk super easy...and then totally whoop my butt in the woods. Maybe he was a better rider than I am but I can at least keep up with everyone I've ever rode with so I was very impressed.

And just watching him ride it looked like it was way easier to corner in the twisties than my nytro. Plus he used the same amount of fuel as me, everytime.

Yea, I've been rippin since 79 (enticer 340) and i cant keep up to the 800 xp with a good driver on it. BUT, the poor reliability and 2 stoke I dont want again...Nytro for me

My brother is buying my nytro in march. And I'm ordering a 800 e-tech...not sure which model yet...i'll see when they release them.

3000 miles and my exhaust donuts are totally shot, a-arm bushings are getting bad along with the ball joints. And the hyfax of course. I might as well have a 2 stroke and rebuild the motor every other year and not have to put up with the weight and changing the oil yearly.

Although my brother pays me to work on his sleds, so I'll still be working on it. Which isn't a bad thing, I dont mind it...its actually quite well put together and easy to work on.

I think I'll trade them off every 3000km

I was just talking with my dad about that... run it till the warranty is up and then trade it in. Damn snowmobiles. If it wasn't so much fun I'd give up and buy a polaris razor (I heard they are lots of fun).

I fired up the old '93 xcr 440 today, 4 pulls and she purrrs like a kitten and doesn't need to be wrenched on...haven't started it all winter. I'm gonna run her tomorrow just to get some new gas in it.
