FX Nytro vs REV XP

Seeing how we own each of these, I feel I could give an honest opinion of these 2 actual production sleds and how they compare to each other and other sleds. I already have speculations on how well each will hold up. To give you a hint: I know I will need to keep myself OFF the Tn'T through the rough stuff as the new SC5 rear suspension looks pretty light duty for a 121". As I have stated before each of these sleds will be 136"/137" before snow flies. (less than a month I hope!) So I look forward to putting miles on each (more so the FX Nytro!!) this winter.

I haven't got to see the new doo, but even thinking about losing that much weight makes me think that they are either really "thin" or they are using stonger, lighter materials. For a full race sled, I think this is fine, but we beat our to death season after season. I'll reserve final judgment, but I feel like there is a point where you are chasing the weight issue too much, and are taking a chance at comprimising durability.
As we all know, our 4 strokes aren't the lightest sleds by any means, but I haven't been beaten on the trails just because somebody else was lighter. I'll get beaten by a better rider on any sled before weight becomes an issue.
Now get them stuck.... I'll enjoy a lighter sled, but really, how much difference will a few pounds be when you're burried as deep as I am in my avitar!!
I'll be the first one to think the weight argument is a dead horse issue, but I'll continue to buy sleds based on their build quality, longevity, looks,etc...
I haven't enjoyed the new Doo's looks just yet, but time will tell....

My little brother just got his Rev xp TNT 1200 4tec. Hopefully he will let me ride it and compare it to my buddies FX Nytro.

I dont know why all you guys are comparing 4 strokes to 2 smokes?

All the vids I see from snowmobile mags put the nytro up agains a 600 2 smoke?!?? duh um thats not apples to apples..

Class for class I would like to hear a reasonable argument.

Has anyone checked the weight of the sleds without the weight of the motors, that should be a good way to compare the two. We all know the 4S is heavier, but by how much?

I kinda like that idea, would be interesting just to see the chassis numbers. Wouldn't be overly useful, but interesting anyway.

Well think about it,The XP TNT was 399lbs and when they threw the 4 stroke motor in it it was above 500 lbs. This won't give you an EXACT number but I am sure you get the picture.

It is in a different chassis. I don't know what specifically is changed from an XP to an XR but they are different.

it the same chassis just a slightly wider engine bay and different plastic that make up the hood and side panels
