Last spring there was a small article in I believe Snow Tech on a gage relocation bracket that someone had built. It raises and moves the gage pod a bit to make it much more visible on an Apex with the handlebars raised up a couple inches. Seemed like a good idea to me. Has anyone built one or know of any company that offers one?

I've done this in various ways on both my Apex and Attak. Search for gauge AND relocation
CR Racing makes a bracket - Kinger's sled has one
Timbersled makes one - I use a modified one
You could make one your self - I've made a few versions
Currently my gauge is on a modified timbersled bracket on a RAM mount on a Lake Effect riser. My 7" iPad (I hope) GPS is going where the gauge used to be.

Correct I use the CR racing under bar mount which just means it mounts on the back side of the risor. Then I made a custom one for my SC gauges mouted on the front side of the risor and matched the angles so they match.

Thanks, Looks real nice. I will have to get my sled out and see what area looks best. I assume you made the plate yourself, used their bracket? The one I saw mounted in the stock location, was a plate bent at more than a 90 bend to push the gage up and forward, leaving it more flat and more in line when looking over a riser.

I've done this too with a homemade solution. Worked well and had requests from friends to make them one. I'll find some pics later.sk-rx1 said:Thanks, Looks real nice. I didn't think I would like the gauge where it is but its perfect, even when standing. I find it much ore visable and easy to reset the trip meter, etc when its in that position. When I started I wanted to see it while standing, but who wants to look at a gauge while standing so I did this which is better viewed while sitting and cruising on a nice straight trail, then I peek down and check out the gauges make sure everything is ok.
Either way it works well. You will have to extend your wires to the gauge pod, at least I had to.

I did find the article in Snow Tech, pg 12 of the Spring issue. The mod was actually done to a Vector. I will figure something from all these ideas.

You can see this worked really well. Thats a standard riser. Looks like it was made to go there. Makes me consider going back to it. There is a plate in old location and a standoff plate, to which the speedo is mounted. It was about as high as you could go with a windshield. The standoff made the speedo 1" closer and moved it up about 3" (going by memory). I made the plates with 6060 AL and had them powder coated.
