I have a sled lift and have lifted the sled and put milk crates under the skis and under the track then lower the lift and remove the lift. With the sled on the crates you can work under the sled easy.If you don't have a lift get a friend to help lift it up.

I also have a lift. It's handy for many things and a nuisance for others. Installing the rear suspension comes to mind. Near impossible on a lift. Child's play with the sled tipped. I installed two skid plates today, sleds on their sides. Too simple to do it any other way. I'll add a small clamp to my tool kit for pinching the fuel vent. I'm still curious about the oil in the airbox comment.

Yes it's true. I tipped my sled on it's side going over a snow bank after getting gas. I was going slow and had a bottle of water coming out of my pocket so I grabbed it guess what. I shut the sled off went to get help to tip it back up maybe 5 minutes. 20 minutes later on the trail my oil light came on.
Boy did it make a mess almost a quart. at nine and change a quart. they should have put some type of check ball in the vent line. I hope I didn't do any damage. 2009 XTX

Found this thread in a search. Looking for a little confirmation on something. Newbie alert!
Filled gas in my 09 XTX today for the first time. First machine I ever own, First ride on it.
The thing runs amazingly well and I am really happy.
I have always filled borrowed or rented sleds to the top without issue. I did this today with my Nytro, right to just below the cap! I then noticed fuel running furiously from under the left side running board. It must have leaked a 1/2 gal before stopping.
Did I "over fill" my tank and it leaked out this vent tube you guys are talking about?
