Installed new Trail Tank on my 2012 XTX. Fit was tight and had a hard time connecting the fuel level wiring backup. She is all in now and looks great. Took sled riding today and it sure is nice not worrying about gas. I noticed no difference in handling from the extra weight of 3 gal. I don't know why Yamaha never did this as the room was there to do it.

To connect the fuel gage connector push the tank up to the frame loop and then just lift the side of the tank up to plug it in. U have to get the tank as close as u can to the steering loop and it usually goes on no problem. Once connected just shove the tank all the way forward. Also if you need to change plugs just slide the tank back a little. No need to completely remove it as sliding it back a bit gives you plenty of room. Just be prepared to remove the rear exhaust plastic and seat out in the field if you need to. I put the necessary wrenches in my tool kit just in case something happens out on the trail.

Slowey thanks for the tip. I just mover the harness down some and got it on.
