well I got a chance to go out on my 03 rx for the first time. I was in boulder junction WI. and it was great . but I have a few ?s.

1) I was geting 13 mpg. I thought I was going to get better. any ideas on why such bad milage?
2) what is the best sway bar for it? I had the problem of wanting to roll. I want to rail the corners.
3) ride quality. a little rough can I use the shock off a sx viper?

I know you might need to know a little about my sled.
03 rx1
136 track ext. with 1" lugs and 163 studs.
goodwin clutch kit engages at 4500. runs 10200 rpm

The gas might be a bit stale, give it a tank or two. If the sled is a new one, give it some time.

the sled has 950 miles. and 13 mpg was with 3 tanks of gas

Hmmmm, I averaged 17 last year on my Warrior and about the same the year before on my RX-1. Warrior was stock clutched with ECP kit at the time while the RX-1 had Heavy Hitters and stock air box.

Could there be a problem with some thing. could there be a problem with the clutch kit engadging at 4500 as to the stock3500?

The slower you ride the worse the mileage is. No joke. The Faster I ride it the better it gets. 65-95mph riding got me almost 18mpg BUT, when riding 25-45 it went down to 13mpg. ===SRXSRULE===

clutch kits will sometimes destroy fuel mileage as the cruising RPM is often increased. :ORC

My RX got 15-16 with my own clutching and the 4-pro and allmost exactly the same mileage after the turbo install

I also got about 13-14 mpg. I never thought to check the motor as the sled was was new and i thought the dealer knew what they were doing.

Here is what the new dealer found
1. The carbs were way out of sync.
2. one of the vent lines was pinched down under the battery

I will tell you that i can deffinitly hear a diffence in the motor . As soon as we get snow ill know.

thanks for the help!!!!!!! I forgot to say I was on a flat road part of the trail and could wind it up I hit 10200 rpm with 98 mph max. after all the talk I was expecting a lot faster. could the carbs not be timed? it ran fine started good just not the mpg or mph. does that help you to help me

The harder you ride it the better the gas milage... WHY I DONT KNOW.... It just is..

If i put put around i get 13-14mpg..

If i ride the crap out of it i get 16-18

This is also what I find to be true, I allmost allways get 15.5 mpg
