Gauge Question:
On my 22 sidewinder, when starting/running sled, my engine coolant temp as well as my IAT temp show the bar graph, but also show a numerical value.
My 19 cat only shows the bar graph on each of these readings. Everytime I start the ZR, I have to hold the lower left button for 3 seconds, then the numerical values will pop up for each.
Is there a way to get these numerical values to show everytime I start the ZR? It's a pain holding the lower left button at every start.

Has it always been that way?Gauge Question:

I assume the numerical values are on screen when you shut sled off?
Have you tried cycling through the cluster options?
Have you tried holding that lower left button longer?
IDK, it should hold your last setup so to me it seems like something not right with it.

Once I enable numerical screens, they stay until I shut they key off. Once the key is turned back on, I have to hold lower left button to get them back........everytime. I'll try holding the button longer next time.
It's always been this way. I'm hoping there is a trick to get the numerical values to show all the time?

There must be some sequence to make that the default setting Glenn. have you looked through the service manual?

I have one so I'll check to see if they mention it in there. Ditto owners manual.

My Cat 2028 Service manual mentions nothing about cluster or settings.
My Operators Manual says:
"Press the lower left button to change which parameter is being displayed. Press and hold the lower left button to see the actual values associated with the mode selected."
I would try cycling through all the parameters that can be displayed, set to your choice, then press again to get numerical values to display. Try holding button longer.
If that doesn't work (holding numerical values all the time), I think I would try resetting the cluster/ecu/electrical system. Ie, unhook battery for 5-10 minutes. And, even try connecting positive and negative together after disconnecting battery first for 10 minutes.
If that doesn't work. IDK.
Might take a call to Cat (or a dealer that has top tier service guys).

You have to hold it for three seconds so to give your riding partners a head start….. so they can keep up …. lol…

One other thought, it shouldn't matter but maybe try unplugging and re-plugging the cluster in at the back?

Well, I've tried all the above and it's the same. Perhaps it's a glitch with the gauge cluster?
Next step, I'll try the gauge from the sidewinder and see what happens.

Agree. Good chance that particular gauge/cluster has a problem.Well, I've tried all the above and it's the same. Perhaps it's a glitch with the gauge cluster?
