What i have seen in Yamaha data cheet the gearing is 21/41 and that gives a teoretical top speed att 116 mhp (186km/h)
My standard machine runs 130-135 km/h about 50km gone.
I have Changes the helix, springs and supertips 50Y weights, and i running 135 -140 km/h now. whit a 70km/h tracksped in 1m snow.
I have toughts too change the gearing to 21/49, that will give a teoretical top speed 155 km/h
should i calculating whit a 50km/h gone and higher/lower tracksped whit the new gearing and recalibrated clutches?

It depends what you are after. Those of us that have 21/49 gearing stock (LE models) are fighting low top speed issues. Explosive acceleration, but they lay over and die on top speed.
I suspect yours may also be geared same.

I´m luckey whit the topspeed if i have 21/49 gearing. Not happy if i have 21/41
So are you trying to go faster or slower?

noting off it, but
The question are, if i have 21/41 gering and onley running 135 when the gearing is made fore 185.
What would be better, to change gearing to 21/49 and hoping that topspeed will be unchanged but whit a better acc and higher track speed in deep snow because a better gearration in clutches 1:1

I have the perfect gears under the hood! I bought the XTX LE because I wanted a crossover with a bunch of the MTX goodies and boy did Yamaha deliver! Its prefect for riding a line in the trees, long pull up the steep and deep, carving, donuts, side hilling , few jumps here and there, it does wheelies when you hit the go button, point and shoot. I am so impressed with what it can do. Yamaha put the correct gears in for what it was intended for. This is a off trail sled at heart and that's just what Yamaha built. The sled is not lake racer or trail sled that is happy going fast. Honestly I dont care how fast it goes, I have alot of fun going slow playing in meadows or in a rolling hill forest and it all about that low end power. As a matter of fact I have rode with people with faster sleds then mine and they usually say something like " wow that looks fun playing in the meadow but my sled just wont do that" . well, maybe you trade some of that top speed for more low speed high torque fun factor
or just by a XTX LE viper..

Okay, havet you checkt The gearing on your xtx Le.
I checkt yesterday, and i havet The same gearrotation as xtx se 21/41, allmost 8 turns ln secundary gave 4 turns on driveshaft.
It seems to me that both xtx se and xtx le her in sweden has equil gearing 21/41.
What gearing have The xtx le Boys "over ther"?

I honestly don t know what gears come in a XTX LE in the US, all i know is they work. I have heard that the XTX SE and the LE do have different gears. Why would Yamaha change gears for the Sweden XTX LE ?

OK,
I dont Think Yamaha changing gearing, but in USA/Canada they may use a "lower" gearing because you boys maby riding in "higher" elevation over the see.
Im driving a XTX LE whit 2,25 luggs and i have the same gearing as a freinds XTX SE that have 1,6 lugg, and that would be 21/41.
Why im woundering about the gearing, is because the XTX LE i have whit 2,25 luggs is a crossover sled, and i think is strange that the gearing is soo high (185km) and it onley goose 135 km/h.
Another thing is that it´s noot so good for the track to drive that fast because lugg hight.and Arctic cats XF7000 HC comes whit 21/49 gearing.
And i Think the XF8000 HC have 21/49 gearing, and the 800 have more hp and is lighter. so why put a higher gearing in a XTX LE that is slightly havier and 30 hp less, when is "the same" sled in the ground, if you dont see to the Engine and clutches, so i cant see the benefits off having that hight gearing Yamaha put in a crossover sled, specielt whit that track and lugg hight.
should it be better to go whit the 21/49 gearing for this kind of snowmobile, teoretical top speed whit this gearing would be 155 km/h, better acc, maybe better trackspeed in snow, closer to 1:1 drive in the clutch, and whit some clutch settings i will maintain the same top speed that i have now.
