- 100% SKIDOO YAMI BLOWS
Ok bought a new Yami Viper SE, my first Yami ever... and having a Hell of a him with this sled. It just doesnt handle good at all etc... Last week i suck the limiter strap down 1, lowered the center shock an inch, and let the fronts to 70 or 75 psi. The tuner skis im running have 6's&4's for carbides and im running 96 or whatever the basic center band stud patten is. The sad thing is is better than before. Over rough trail going straight its like the sled has 0 suspension at all, like back to 7 inch travel days??? I'am coming off a XRS so i can deal with a stiff ride but this is a joke. Also once i start riding the sled hard thru the S corners and bumps all it does is PUSH!! As i stated before the sad thing is with the changes its alot better. When i accelerate out of a corner and the front goes where it wants im not good with that, when im going on flat roads 50-65 mpg and mash the gas through tiny corners and she drifts partly in the other lane i gotta let off...WTF!! I need her to be better, thats where i hope you guys can help, i've ridden Skidoo for over 25k so im not good with this kind of setup. The rear blockers... what about them?? Should i go down more on the strap? I don't know much about this rear skid.... The book is vague. Please help i got a hot sled that dont like me... thx guys good and safe riding

Where's your rear springs set at? We pulled my buddies LTX limiters down 2 holes, took 2 threads off the center shock, rear on soft, and he likes his floats stiff 92psi... Thing is on rails! Holds the skis 3-4" on take off. And he can run the corners 10 mph faster than me.. but it is "tight" (for me) on the bumpy trail. He's 6'-6" 280-290lbs with gear, MPI trail turbo, Ulmer clutching 8JP, Slydog trail skis with 7.5 Sharper bars.

Did you check where your shocks were set at ? mine were all over the board left different than the right some full soft some full stiff etc

Install the rear shock from a DX model and change to a single carbide ski, last years viper ski or curves both work well. Will fix all your problems.

The tuner ski's work great on my 2 up dx with my kid on the back but are no good for aggressive trail riding.

Tuner skis work very well with two 6" shaper bars on each ski. Very predictable for aggressive riding. I ran 65lbs in my floats, rear block on the least transfer setting, center spring in the skid loosened, but not too much or you won't have any suspension in the big bumps and limiter up one hole.
This year I have the Dx model with axys shocks on the front and it handles great. I had a 2012 and 2013 doo. Not as good as the doos but I have it very close

I think the springs are the same but the shock valves are different. My 14 se had very little rebound. My 15 dx rebounds very quick and probably less compression

My experience the coil fronts handle much better for trails

You'd be amazed at what $200 or less in shock valving will do for this sled. I didn't like the floats on the trails on my ltx se, I bought a set of coil overs off a dx and I'm very pleased, they're much more forgiving in the small stuff and handle big bumps just as good, but I'm not much of a mogul masher, I just like to chill and cruise, otherwise the floats would be good. Rear shock valving will not only help the ride of the suspension but it'll help you a lot with your handling issues
X2 revalve is the best $ you will spend on your Viper without a doubt. Do it before anything else it is dramatic difference and affects everything. They missed the boat on this one big time!
