Glad to be on a Yamaha

I have been snowmobiling since 1964. I am we'll past the 100,000 mile mark on snowmobiles, and have only been towed back 3 times. #1; 1991 Polaris Indy 500 SP, broken crank. #2; 2005 Yamaha RX-1, hole in front heat exchanger. #3; 2007 Yamaha Rage GT, hole in front heat exchanger. Had many small things break in numerous sleds but was always able to limp them home.

My father in law was a big Polaris guy trades in machines before 10000km every 2 years had a 2009 switch back and hated it. He moved to skidoo got 800 R 2010 loved ti traded and now has 2012 800R Now he is going to trade for new skidoo 4 tec 2014 model. When I asked him if he would buy a Yamaha 4 stroke knowing it was a bulletproof engine or even an Artic cat the topic came up on how Artic cat was junk. He explained that the weekend before he rode with a buddy who had an 1100 turbo and traded it for the 800 2 stroke version because he couldn't stand the turbo lag. When they went out last weekend the 800 2 stroke was leaking antifreeze. They rode 300 pus km's with no issues but when taken to dealer they said it was the overflow that had leaked. The puddle was pretty bug find it hard to believe that to be true. Same with the 800R we had trailered 2 weeks ago and under the 800 was a puddle of antifreeze. where did it come from? I had my donuts go on my Yamaha but still rode all day. Point of story is "Glad to be on a Yamaha".
