Found a 2012 with 1800 miles. This will be my wife’s first sled. What things should I be looking at when I go inspect it. I really don’t want to do a compression test as it’s super clean and low miles. Any input would be appreciated.

At 1800 miles there really shouldn't be any major concerns. You'll be looking for minor cosmetic issues mostly to bargain over. You basically need to size up the seller on weather they abuse their #*$&@ or not. At this mileage, even if the sled's never been serviced, original oil & slides, it's probably gonna be just fine (but put some Dupont slides on it ASAP). I picked up a 12 LTX last year for my wife (but she hasn't ridden it yet). Put on about 400 end of season miles and really love it. The power steering really makes a difference on a long days ride. Vectors are harder to sell than Apexs so it's always a buyers advantage.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like it’s pretty clean and he takes it to a dealer for service. One owner.

My wife and I both have 2012 RS Vectors LTX. The only thing you might what to look at is.... If the track is studded, check for possible damage to the rear heat exchanger. Do a search of studding on this site. It will show pictures of the damage from studs and how to eliminate damage. The damage from studding is generally caused by fully compressing the rear suspension. In a nut shell hard riding. We bought our sleds in 2013. The sleds only had 280 & 312 miles on them. They did have some minor damage to the heat exchangers. We are not hard riders, but I did the mods shown in the link anyway. Good luck on your new purchase.

It's a great sled and bearings should still be good for a couple more thousand miles. My wife has the exact sled with over 10,000 mi. It did a great job towing my 15 Viper out of the woods last weekend.

My wife has a 2012 with 9,000 miles. Never had a problem with it. I would clean and repack both the driven clutch bearing and the lower axle bearing at the speedometer. Both should be redone every season. Great sled. Good luck with it

Love my wifes 2010 LTX... amazing machine.. improvements over the years since 06 are amazing. You'll have to check it like any other machine. But the machine it self is amazing if maintained and not beat on. Send a link so we can check it out for ya.

How much? LTX or short track? I saw a 13 short track new for 7800.......if this was a LTX for 7800 I would have me a new sled!!!!!
It was a 2012 Ltx 136” all black with skid protector. 1,800 miles. I paid 6k really nice shape no studs..

Front end bushings on ALL the Yamaha chassis wear out in as little as 1100 miles. Install Oilite bushings and never worry about them again.

I have had Apexs and Now a Viper. Lubricate every bushing with a couple drops of oil before every ride. I have never seen any wear on my bushings. I lubricate every moveable point on the front and the rear. Remember to lubricate the bolts where the spindles attach to the ski. I have always noticed a film of oil when I remove any bolt. I also grease every grease fitting often. This flushes water out and eliminates wear.

I should have said the Japanese Yamahas wear out the bushings. My 14Viper with 8k had some wear but not bad at all. My RX-1, Nytro, Rage, Apex all wore in the first 1100 miles.

My 08' Vector has 8000 miles on it and the bushing are stock never changed................
That would be amazing....
I just changed some in an 08 Vector LTX with 5300 miles, stock ones were wiped out.
