Well after riding my 2012 Apex for 1 year---and thinking I was going to be riding it for 5 more-- I traded it yesterday for a Viper LTX. I'll admit at first I was dead set against the Cat/Yammi merger but after talking to the Reps about the how's and why's, riding one and discovering some unfixable flaws with the Apex I jumped. The procross chassis fits me perfectly. I had and an xtx Nytro and love the 3 cylinder engine for trail riding. It also did't hurt that I got what I consider a SMOKIN deal . dealer gave me $8500 for my Apex against $11700.
Dealer could't give me an exact build time but who care as long as it comes before snow. I am not in the camp of some people who think that Yamaha is hiding something by not giving details. I don't think anything is set in stone yet as to delivery dates and specs and I accept that.
I feel this is gonig to be an awsome trail sled and can't wait for next year!!!!

Congratulations! And well said. I agree and feel same as you. Trusting Yamaha to do their best. I look at my $ down and commitment to buy as a investment in Yamaha that will pay off for me.

Ditto! I'm certain this will be an awesome sled. The agility and lightness I love about my Phazer with the power of the Nytro! Thank you Yamaha!

I just traded in my 06 Apex RTX and ordered a Viper LTX SE. Very excited and feel this will be a great sled. Based on the information I received and the fact that I will have a 5 year warranty,I have no real concerns. After 8 years of riding my Apex, it was time. Having gone thru almost 2K worth of exhaust components so far and with the looming drive shaft failure on the horizon, the timing was right for me.

Congrats to "ALL" you lucky guys................... I didn't get a chance to ride one YET but I sure like the way it looks..... And that motor
MM.

I am seriously looking at one also but I will let another year go bye first to see what real world riders have to say. Yamaha builds such reliable stuff that they last forever my two rx1 are still in top notch shape with over 9000 miles on the o4, so it makes these decisions harder.

After putting serious money into my 06 attak I just did the samething! So many flaws with my apex and this sled is going to be awesome! 2 company's working together to make a sled that works excellent and in my opinion is what all of us want. I have faith that Yamaha will provide us with the best snowmobile possible come production time!!

I have to believe that the reason there are no exact specs or weights or anything else is that they are still testing and refining. Things could still change a little. I also believe that when they are all done the AC sleds and the Yammis will be the same thing except for plastics and clutches. Just like they have always said. The Yammi dealers say that hte Yammi version will be assembled with different grade components and tunnel braces and all kinds of other better things. I cannot believe that AC would not follow suit. It would make no sense. Whatever. Just cleaned up my Apex for the last time. The Viper is going to be great.
