And hello to my new nytro xtx. I am picking it up tomorrow, left over. I have rode my entire life. I have came home due to an accident two years ago. August 11th 2007 to be exact. I was sleep walking riding my motorcycle and now am in a wheelchair, thats where my name came from and yes I was sleep walking hard to believe I know. Any way I am getting my xtx tomorrow and am really looking forward to the feel the rath of my turbo, I am getting an ulmer stage 2 setup and have spoke with dave at hurricane for the meth injection. Spoke with Alen Ulmer who seems awesome and said with the meth injection he would run it at 10 lbs. I am thinking maybe 250 hp. I am getting the tunnel dump exhaust so I can strap my wheelchair on the back, the mach worked perfect and with the tunnel dump exhaust the nytro should be just as easy. I will be trail riding and lake racing, I love to be the fastest. Just wanted to hear what all of you thought of the set up? Any tips or hints would be great, looking to stud, thinking of the 171 down the middle 3 per row. Hello to every one and am really looking forward to getting on this monster.

Welcome to the site crippledncrazy
Allen Ulmer is great guy that sells great turbo systems, superchargers and clutch setups.
Allen is a seasoned dragracer and tuner, for the last few years also on boosted Yamahas. You're gonna love you new boosted ride that's for sure.
Sorry I do not have any spesific info on Allens setups, but I do know from this site that there are a great number of happy people riding with Allens stuff on board
Good luck with your new addiction.

Well thats all every ones got? Another question I had with the hp I will be running do you all think the 171 down the middle would be enough to hook up, this is my first 144 so its a whole new ball park. Also I have studded a track with zero miles before and have waited for them to break in. What is your opinions on studding the track? Break it in or just stud it new. I studded my mach with no miles and it seemed fine, just wanna hear some ideas on it. I am just worried about having all this crazy power and not hooking up.

I would put close to 300 picks in that sled for riding in NY. Most trails have snow but any lake or road is hard pack for racing. Pick it from the start and keep an eye on adjusting tension and you will be fine.
I am not sure 10lbs boost and 250 hp doesn't sound right. Maybe 210-225 at that boost level, going by the standard 8-9hp per pound of boost ratio. 135 stock plus 90hp=225.
My attak made 246 hp at 10lbs. and that wasn't really the best set up. Just my 2 cents.
Allen Ulmer is great to deal with and his products will be great as well. You can't go wrong with what he has to tell you.
Tunnel dump will be very loud. Not the greatest for the noise police. Look into a under tunnel Excell or talk to allen about dropping the muffler for under tunnel, he might have some ideas on his rear mount set up.
Good luck man, glad you came to boosted yami world!! This is a great website with tons of info. spend some time looking around.

Oh yeah, bring that sled up to Old Forge this Feb for my shoot out. Mostly boosted sleds, it is a blast. I will have more info on that up soon.

How long has Ulmers turbo been out? Wasnt it NW turbos before? Its the one I am most interested in. U am concerned though about heat dissipation and cooling due to it being behind the engine and not having much air flow.
Am I off base on my concern?

250 HP might be a high estimate but on ulmers site it is 205 at 7.5 lbs. I was first going with a rear mount from powderlites but i really wanted a front mount because I didn't want the rear mount because when I do strap my wheelchair on the back I dont want it on the turbo and exhaust. The tunnel dump exhaust comes with the kit and is from excell. Allenn said it wasnt obnoxiously loud. Im down for that go ped motor that would be freakin wicked lol. Im gonna get daves (hurricane) opinion on studding and allens as well just to get as much info as possible. Going with rotin hornets or gold diggers for sure. I would like to come to old forge, I can actually ride right from my house their if I wanted but would most likely stay for a couple days so I would trailer it. Why didnt you like your attack with 246 hp? Also my old mach z 1000 was the x package from 07 the black and red which are my fav colors. I am going to try and paint my blue hood and get my favorite black and red lay out goin. I have heard good things about allens turbo kits and I think he has really done his home work on it. With the meth injection it should give me some piece of mind when filling up in bfe childwold ny ahaha. As for it getting to hot Allen said the kits got a couple vents and he didnt experience any over heating probs. I will keep you all updated and get some pics up when I get it finished. ALso sure I will have more ?s If any one is up around upstate ny get a hold of me? Always looking for new friends, especially now I jumped off the ski doo band wagon. Need new yami friends! Just might have to help me get my wheelchair of my sled and me into the bar/restaurant. Peoples jaws dropped when they saw a wheelchair on a mach z 1000, wonder what they will do when the here that turbo/blow off valve with my chair on the back hahaha. I cant wait

I am thinking about going black with mine. I am not going to paint mine. I am going to go with a black 2010 hood and put my blue one for sale. I am sure it will sell eventually. I think the hoods are around $200. If I can sell mine for $100 in mint condition then I am only paying $100 for a brand new one in pristine condition. Just something to think about.

Took the xtx across the back lawn today. I am way impressed. The last yamaha I rode was way back when i had my 99 vmax 500 when i was like 13 or 14 and that suspension was like a rock, now wheelies. Just a couple quick blips of the fun flipper and it wheelies nice. Compared to my mach it hooks up way better in the grass. I wasnt holding it wot. Just a little to feel it. This thing is going to be unreal with the turbo. I am ordering c&a xtx skis red with black loops. Also decided just to buy a black shroud instead of paint. Found one brand new for 124. I was shocked at the quick lawn burn, all the trash talking I did and have heard is totally bunk. I cant wait to truly ride!

What caused the sleepwalking......some sort of medication? Have heard some scary stories of people "waking up" and not knowing how they got there......even driving cars. Caused by some of our "modern medicine".

Well it wasn't due to any medication. I guess they came up with it was due to my lack of sleep and high stress is what triggered it. And because I rode bikes my whole life it was like second nature to me. I didn't remeber anything. Just real unlucky I guess. Coulda been worse I guess. I'm still makig progress i can feel everything and can pick up my legs. They said I would never get anything bck. It can take up to like 3 or 4 years to fully heal. So anything can happen but who knws until then I'm crazyncrippled lol

Well, I wish you all the best. Carry on with life with the cards you are dealt. Sounds like you will prove them wrong too. In the meantime learn to sled again!

I have spent two winters like this on my mach and managed pretty well, can still beat most of my friends on the trails. Kinda tricky with some things found just hammering down solves most of the probs
, just gets my sled in the position i need it. Has any one got one of those air frame hoods? Seems decent especially with my front mount going on. Any opinions on it? If I dont get that I am getting the stock black hood. Also whats the best seat. I am getting the tunnel dump and gotta get rid of that blue seat. Thinking of the mountain mod or the seat from tachycardia. Definately getting one of them just not sure whats the best?
