Got beat on my stock warrior by a 03 F7 clutched w/reeds. We started from a 20 roll and he pulled about 3 lengths and held me. We did run out of room with the waqrrior still having lots to give. what inexpensive mods will help me?

Why didnt you race him from a dead stop,, as you should have the traction advantage!!
Its like when i streat race my car... If the other guy want to have a rolling start i say to him....LOOK ...Drag racing is from a dead stop not a rolling start!! I would get beat sometimes if i didnt have the traction advantage!!

Just did some riding following some F7s to see how my Warrior would do! Well I'm not saying the Warrior is not fast but thoses F7s are, for sure, fast! But I think it was even a bigger surprise for those F7 drivers to realize that I was keeping the pace with them
Clutch work will obviously be your best bet, but you may need more. Some people seem to underestimate the F-7, but don't be fooled. It is a very though competitor.

Not nessisarily. Those F7's have alot of lug, and they are definitely easier to get moving because they are lighter.
Damn things are fast.

See Matt he'll fix you up on clutching: http://www.thespeedshop1.com/
then see Freddie on the K&N's: http://www.easterncycleperf.com
This is the best bang for the buck.

I also agree that the stage 2 or stage 3 kit from Matt at the speed shop are the best bang for the buck. Yamaha clutches are set very mild for the general consumer. There is so much room for improvment. The air filter kits from eastern cycle are they working and have they got all the bugs worked out? Also do they work just as well for they trail rider that likes to get out evey once and a while and crush some of his riding buddies?

If you want a good clutch set up that works out of the box backed up by track dyno data and real world testing see Greg Goodwin at Goodwin Performance. We have been doing business with Goodwin for years they have excellent service. Our (4) RX1's benifitted by 4 to 5 sled lenghts in 1000 feet.

Best bang?
I would like to see a stock clutched RX with Freddies filter setup against a cluched Rx without it. Freddie's is hallf the money. I am not convinced that the HH's are the best.
Try this discussion for a little more disscussion:

Re: Best bang?
I really think the HHs are the key because the motor needs to be in its best power range for racing... Max torque until 600feet then Max HP till Top speed!! Freddies kit just Helps the Clutch kit even more!!

HH's
The thing is there are other weights that can accomplish the same thing the HH's do, if you are willing to spend the time testing. Fred's kit gives you more torque and HP for alot less money. Hopefully somebady will run a comparrisson and let us know.
Don't get me wrong I am trying the hitters with my turbo. But I am also going to play with different Yamaha weights. PB will be happy because I am going to try the 8dn's which workrd so well with the SRX. Now that I have the four poster I can use the lighter weights.
