got my timbersled rear skid

I'm planning on getting the easy-rider rear skid so I won't need the rear brackets. Here are a few more pic's. Basically the header pipe runs down the left side of the tunnel and turns 180 and points back to the front (the 180 is right in front of the oem cutout for the muffler). I used the rubber mounting donuts from the stock muffler for isolation and the pipe bolts to the top of the tunnel. So far so good. The sled isn't any louder than stock when at idle and is even quieter when you're riding. My greatest concern was the exhaust dumping next to the heat exchanger but I didn't have any overheatig issues and I rode in some pretty warm spring conditions. As I have stated before, in-the-tunnel exhaust dump is the only way I would do my exhaust, but to each his own it's a matter of personal preference.

Whats the purpose of doing the 180 turn and having the exhaust exit forward?
 
That was so the exhaust gases were traveling with the track (and snow) less apt to back pressure or plug off the exhaust. I didn't do that with my Vector, I ran the exhaust into the tunnel behind the seat (due to a rear mount turbo) and pointed the tip down.

Dang, They have went up in price. They want $475 now. Should have jumped on this sooner :o|
 
So your saying your exhaust is dumping under the tunnel in front of the track? If so that sounds intersting, does it work like that? If it does that might be kind of neat to do.
