Anyone have input on gearing for 500' grass drags? Currently stock 24-50.
2015 ltx.
136" R track
2.52 10 tooth drivers.
PCV with wideband and POD300.
Ulmer air intake K&N's
D&D clutching.
9200 rpm

Looking to get to about 85 mph and run out of gear.
I am a bit sceptical of the calculators. I am looking for real world experience.
Thanks Joel

Yes the gearing charts were calculated based on dropping the sled out of a helicopter. I am at 265 hp with machined clutches and overdrive on my 15 xtx and the 26/44 chart says 8 tooth 3.0 = 134.3 mph for stock hp and my best ever on ice was 124.

Unfortunately there's very few (if any) guys that are 500' grass dragging these sleds competitively enough to have already done the work that you did. You definitely got the right setup with track and drivers. I think you'll find a lot more details from the procross cat guys as far as gearing goes..atleast enough info to get you very close to where you need to be. Good luck with the racing!

Yamadog what you pushing now for boost, been following you trying to keep up, been through the whole thing on here, have not been around on the site much lately.

Well the 15 is now with a stock motor no shim just an evo flash, high flow fuel pump and 4th injector in the intercooler is at 11 #'s and dyno'd at about 265 running 50/50 pump/race and 7 #'s at about 230 ish on pump gas.

The 14 which I have almost given up on, is still at Allen Ulmers (now 2 years) and the last dyno on it was about 350 at 20+ #'s of boost. I paid for some really cool stuff on that one but have no idea what is actually on the sled or when if ever I will get it back.
