I have a 09 nytro and I bought new bars. To take the bars off I decided to unplug my hand warmers. Now my engine light is on and it's showing code 81. It means short circuit going to the grip warmers. Can I just ground the 2 wires out or something instead of buying new hand warmers?

The ECU needs to see a load on that circuit so you either live with it, install heated grips on the new bars or wire in a resistor. It would probably be just as easy to put the heated grips on.....
