Grizzly 400 shifting - problem ?

I just got a new Grizzly 400, and would like to know if it has a shifting problem (dealer says it's "normal"). Shifting from neutral to forward is the problem. Sometimes it goes all the way into gear smoothly, but other times it seems to go only part way in and won't fully engage until I give it some throttle. Then it kind of "klunks" and the shifter moves the rest of the way forward. Other than that, it shifts just fine. It NEVER hesitates going from neutral to reverse, and never jumps out of gear once it has fully engaged. My dealer says this is normal, and that it will probably improve with use. Has anybody else noticed this problem on their machine? If so, did it get better after you put some miles on it?

Thanks

Tom F.

My wife has the same machine only it is an older model called a Kodiak 400. It sometimes does the same thing you describe. It has improved a lot with use. It now has around 700mi on it and it rarely happens any more.

Thanks for the reply. I'm hoping mine will get better with use too. Except for this problem, everything else about the Grizz is great. I guess I'll just wait and see, for now.
