This one is driving me nuts. Every once in a while after a long tour I will find that my battery has totally drained down overnight (not even the display will power up). I have checked for a drain on the battery (thinking that one of the relays is sticking on) and nothing. The wierd thing is, I'll get a boost and it's fine right away, after only charging for a few minutes of running. It's not consistent, it won't usually show up for another month or so. This is very unnerving knowing I have no pull-start to fall back on, what's with that?
Any ideas...I've checked the cable connections, the accessory seat lights, and winch solenoid.

snotrx ... did ya ever get this figured out ?? ... I know ya wrote ya checked all the cables, but my brothers Can-Am was doing something like that & it was his negative battery cable was a little loose.
His regulator & stator went out some time later & I have no idea if they are related.
Anyway, hope all is "Good To Go !" now ...

Ya, that's what it was, the cables all seemed tight but apparently not . What I did was torque them all down again to make sure and tie wrap them together to prevent any vibration from loosing them. I haven't had a problem since.
