My new LRD pipe came in for my Grizzly and they didn't include jetting instructions. I noticed that some people in here are using pipes on their Grizzlies. What are you using for a main jet and have you done any other mods like piston, cam, filter etc, anything that could affect jetting. Thanks in advance.

LRD and most pipe makers for the Grizzly recommend leaving the jetting stock unless you have airbox modifications done like a K&N filter and holes in the lid of some sort. From my experience all Grizzlies can use one size up on the pilot jet (this helps cold starting and off idle throttle response). With the pipe you could most likely go up one size on the main also. With four strokes more fuel will make more power until you are to rich that it will blurber and not clear out.
How do you like that pipe so far. We just got some in also and haven't had time to put one on a unit so far. I assume you got LRD's new TORC pipe. Let me know how you like it and how loud it is if you run it with or without the quiet core. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. The pipe hasn't been installed yet because I wanted to check into ideas for jetting. It starts easy and is crisp on the bottom with no lag so I am thinking a couple of sizes up on the main should do it. I am planning on 6 one inch holes in the lid to help it breathe a little.

I had the dealer call LRD today when they installed the pipe. LRD said no jetting changes were necessary at my altitude (2200ft up to 6000ft). I did drill 6 one inch holes in the lid before taking it to the dealer. It started right up without having to use the choke at 42* this morning so I think the pilot is ok.
For a straight through design the pipe was quieter than I expected.
Power off the bottom and the mid range is a lot better from a seat of the pants ride around the block. I didn't get a chance to try the top end but I think it will be about the same or just a little better than stock. If my 27" Dirt Devils ever get here I think it will run just like a stock machine. I was just looking for enough to offset the power loss of bigger tires.
I am now :itchy: to give it a real try.

Port-Parts you were right about the pilot jet. The temp dropped a little more and it took full choke to start and it wouldn't run right for close to 10 min. I took it into the shop and had them go up one on the pilot and two on the main. I think with the pipe and holes in the lid it was just too lean. It sure runs good now.
