actually I have a brand new one sitting here in front of me on my desk....lol, I am thinking now I might want to go bigger turbo but was curious what others had run with this one. Have not even finished the sled and looking for more boost......
the 2560r wont be very good using it for a 1/4 mile long pull as it looks like, I am looking for a good base to use for asphalt racing, running a good 20-?lbs of boost. Looks like maybe using a 2871r.
going thru the compressor maps it looks like the 2871r with the 48 trim and the .60 a/r,.64a/r is the sweet one, its at 75% at 20lbs of boost @10,500rpm. I am using a press ratio of 2.36, and a a/f rate of 27.13lbs per minute.

The 2854 is a relitively new turbo, It comes standard in the CPR Apex turbo kit and has proven to be a very good performer expecially on the APEX motors, all though still limited to around 12 PSI boost.
The Exhaust housing and wheel flow more than the 2554 used in most of the RX 1 turbo kits, but share the same compressor housing and wheel.
The 2560, is defineatly a perfect match for the RX1/Apex motors up to 18 psi.

won't a 2560 have a higher exhaust temp than the 2854?

There is potential for this at the upper end of the boost spectrum but think of it like this.
The 2560 with the larger compressor does not have to spin as fast to make boost. so the wastegate is open more often dumping some of the heat..
Where the 2554 had to spin like hell to make 12 psi, Waste gate closed.
The 2854 can spin fast and exhaust with the wastegate closed.
