Thanks
Yamadoo aka Mark

Warmer fried out. I had mine do the same thing last winter (although mine was the left side)
Time to call good 'ol Kevin at Port Yamaha. Get a warmer, grip, grip glue, & rivets ordered.
You WILL ruin the old grip getting it off, so don't even try to be gentle. Just get out the box cutter & slice that baby right down the middle & peel her off.

One more thing... I know Yamaha supposedly upped the stator output to help with the warmers, but you know the big thing they did was just wire them in series. That's why they get blazing hot. Too many times on 3/4-full power takes it's toll on them.

There is a junction down in the upper steering column. Don't cut the wire.
Snap together bullet style connector. Follow the wire from grip down, you'll find it.

If you have a heat gun you can save the grip. Just heat it up and it will twist off. I have reused both of mine on a 2010.

Grips are expoxy'd at the ends. Heat and twisting will help get it off.
To test the grip remove the dash panel and find the two white connectors with 2 thin black wires leading up to the handle bars. Unplug and grab an ohm meter. Put each of the ohm meter leads to each side of the connnector with the black wires. A good grip will ohm out at roughly 3.5k ohms. If its not close or open then the grip is toast.
I replaced my grips with the Yamaha kit from RSI. Came with new grips and heating elements which were much nicer than stock.

Wait a minute! Were you not supposed to be taking care of your grandkids that weekend?

Just bugging you. You were missed at the TY Ride.

Yep, wife helped out and I could go friday late 4 pm, satuday and sunday.
Did you guys have a good trip in Manitooba?
We call our little trip the "adventure" so many stuck episodes, catastrophic failure of a AC ZRT, and some belts and of course my code 43 and hand warmer.
