My left hand warmer quit on me last week and the dealer checked it out the way Yamaha states to do so and every thing checked out. Yesterday It didn't work again. When I Looked @ the wires coming out of the the control mod on the left side of the handle bars. The wires are hitting the aluminum bracket for the hand guards which is pretty sharp and lookes to be cutting into the wires that touch it. The lower part of the bracket clamp is what I am refering to. which in turn seems to be grounding it out. I will be bringing it back to the dealer to fix this issue.

Seeing as though you need pics here it is!

It's funny because I went riding this weekend and it was almost unbearable because they sucked so bad.

Out of desperation I stopped and bought a cheap pair of gauntlets....surprise....they finally put out enough heat to keep my hands warm....actually I had to keep them turned to about 3/4 most of the time. They are obviously working, but they do not produce enough heat to offset the exposed bar.

She's @ the dealer as of yesterday. Still haven't heard back from them? Hopefully it will be a quick fix and I can ride again soon.

They checked the left hand warmer itself and it was toast. They ordered new hand grip and warmer. I picked up y sled today seeing as though I am riding this weekend. I guess i will have to pick up some gauntlets to help keep the left hand warmer. They said it would take approx a week to get the grip and element. The mechanic said it looks like the element grounded out somehow? Still not sure if it was the hand guard bracket which caused this? :brrr:

Noticed this last week when riding in the single digits. Clearly was "on", but not enough given the speed, temp, and exposed bar.

exactly lucky 7 the cold wind is what is cooling off the grips, I rode in -20 with warm hands. I switched with my buddies nytro and they where colder but I have my hand guards angled down more which must deflects the wind more.

I did angle my hand guards down but it still didn't work.

I know I am kind of a whimp with cold weather, so maybe I am not a good benchmark....but we were busting it pretty hard down the trail and stopped, immediately pulled off my glove, grabbed the bar...nothing! Obviously it is not strong enough to keep up with the elements because they worked fine when riding with the gauntlets.
