After riding the Apex I want to raise my handle bars since there is no way I can afford one. I have found I like to stand more than I thought on my shorty anyway and I realy liked the hight bars.

I dont stand all the time since I ride trails but is 4" too much?

Should I just go 2?

Who has a good riser available?

Does anyone have a used one to sell me??

Thanks
Tony

are your handlebars not adjustable like the bars on the mountain RX's? Check to see if they are. open up the "covering" over the bars, the black stuff, and look to see on the bottom of them, the bottom and rear of the bars, there should be 2 bolts that you can loosen and push them forward to give you a riser effect

if you dont have those, 2" is plenty.

I have a 3" articulating and boss seat (sits higher) and I love it. 4" would be too much for me personally. Definately too much for sitting down. Depends on what riding you do.

Monker, 3 articulating sounds nice.

SoCo only adjust on a shorty is the 4 bar clams bolts and you can only move move (articulate front -back an inch or two)

Maybe I should only go 2?

RX1MAN..I am 6' and ride trails 90%and sit 80% but I like to stand to push it in the bumps when the boys want to "go".. I think If I could stand with out leaning over so far I would stand more too... I cant quite keep with the F-7 through the bumps...

Ive added 3" of foam to my seat and what a great difference that made!!

I loved the APEX!!! I think I will be looking for a nice cherry used one next spring....

Thanks for your ideas Guys!!!

I'm sure you know there is a rivet that holds the stop on the bottom of the stock bars, you can drill it out and roll the bars forward. I went with a Fly pivot block, 8" Fly risers and Pro Taper bars with 05 RX mountain throttle and choke cables. I WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO STOCK. It gives much more comfort standing and I have adapted to sitting down with them
:rocks:

yeah aksteepndeep...thats what im doin to my next sled. the yamaha rep told me that if i used a straight fly bar and block risers that i could possibly snap the steering column. well he told me what i had to order...set of mtn bars with a 2 inch block...well that was way too short. so i bought myself a set of 6" risers and through them under my mtn bars...works awesome. only thing i have to do is stand up once in a hwile to allow the blood to flow back into my arms=)...my fam and friends make fun of my bars...."looks like ur ridin a chopper" but i always hear them complainin bout their backs hurting...mine seems to be fine

I am also running fly 8" risers and Pro Taper bars I have a picture posted under mountain deep powder showing what the look like. Fly risers come in a bunch of different hights so pic the one that best suit you and your riding. Mine work awsome. Proable the best thing besides turbo I have done to mine.

exactly, but it should raise them up as well. i moved mine so far forward my brake handle hits the windshield. it is MUCH better than stock. gives me GREAT leverage.

I use the 5"rox risers on my 04
All you need is a 05 throttle cable (Cheap from yamaha) and move the brakeline behind the coolant tank.
Works well with the stock bars and gives the best adjustability.
You can even adjust the bar hight by how straight you line the bar with the riser. To get the bar far enough forward you need to cut the windshield or get a shorty one.
I am 6. 2" and this set up works well for me.
I also like to use the stock bars because they have some give to them, at that height there is a lot of leverage.
If she rolls the bars can bend instead of the steering head.
