Is it me or does it always seem to be the right one?

For me it was the warmer itself that quit. I replaced it was the RSI kit from Yamaha, spary foamed my bars and got better hand guards now I can't run them on high because they are too hot even on cold days.

The rsi grips work great . Put them on my sled always run 2 to 3 bars . I hooked them up red/blue together

I doubt that they are fused seperately, you probably have a fuse that would protect both hand warmers and thumb warmer. More than likely the element burnt up in your right side. You could check the resistance in the elements to see if one opened up. I do not know what the resistance should be but contact your local dealer they should be able to tell you.

My right element went on my 2010 MTX SE a couple weeks ago, had to get a new one from the dealer, going to replace it tomorrow. 750 kms on the sled and kapuut !!! Don't know what happened, it just quit. Seems to be quite common that the right elements are quitting, they were on backorder if that means anything.

Left one quit on mine. Grips will twist on the bars and eventually it just tears the heating element. Cut your grip off and you will probably see where the element is tore/ripped.

Yes thats what has happened

I put 06 Apex bars on my nytro for $25. They get really hot real fast. I leave them at 2 bars. They plug right in.
Check the classifieds

Do your self one better and pass on the yamaha grips in the kit and put a set of the ODI's on from RSI. They are way better. They are a bit thicker so yu should foam the bars and you'll also have to cut about an inch off.

They shouldn't twist if the rivets are in place. I just went out a tried to twist mine and there's no way I could budge it. Even worse, my dealer got me a left side element because the right side is on backorder, but the path of the wires exiting the element itself obstructs the throttle, so I can't install the new element :o| I am not a happy camper right now #$%&*

If you haven't already done so check with RSI, that's where yamaha gets them anyway or at least when I opened my yamaha upgrade kit from the dealer they had RSI all over them.
