I installed the update on my 06 Nytro today, and I came across something that could catch some of you (or maybe it was just me!). The new bars come with the warmers plugged into a pigtail which in turn plugs into the L/R handwarmer circuit. Thinking that this pigtail was redundant, I ditched it, and installed them the way the original ones were; ie. plugged directly into the circuit. Well, as I was tooling around the yard (in FRESH SNOW by the way........ YEAH) there was no heat to be found. None. Nada. So, I installed the pigtail as it was intended, and ........ HEAT. Lots of it. This was when following my son around the yard on his 120 at 4000-5000 rpm, so it should be a drastic improvement over the 06 bars. Anyway, hope this saves someone a little trouble. Enjoy the warm hands!

This could tie in with other comments that the replacements are wired in parallel vs. series.

Not positive on this as I wont get to do mine for another week or two.

The 06 wre in parallel, first for Yamaha, the 07 are in series plus you cannot plug in the same as 06 in fact the right grip plugs into where the left grip on the 06 plugged into, and the left where the right 06 plugged into.

Follow the wire color code on the instructions and you will be fine. They come connected in series so all you have to do is connect the final wire to the correct female in the loom.

Make sure you use a phillips #3 on the trim ring screws and they will last forever.

There were NO INSTRUCTIONS with my bars! Otherwise, this thread wouldn't have been started. Thanks for the tip, though! Also, according to the dealer, Nytro bars carry a different part number than the Apex bars, so he has a bunch of Apex guys waiting for back-ordered bars, but I got mine right away. Does that seem correct? How are the Nytro bars different from the Apex?

Yes that is correct, Nytro bars are shaped just a little different then the Apex, (Nytro bars are more straight, where they connect to the riser)

I am not a wiring guy but every Yamaha I have seen has the grips connected together than to the harness, The 06 has two black wires out of each grip going direct to the two harness connections.

That's what is meant by wired in parallel vs series. The Vector is wired in series with bullet style connectors and the grips connected together. The 06 Nytro was wired in parallel with their own circuits and double connectors. I assume that I can clip the connectors off the 06 Nytro bars (thanks throttle jockey!), crimp on some bullet connectors and plug them together and into my Vector harness in series?

Not in mine!!!!

Mine had the wiring diagram.

I guess my diagram got lost in the shuffle. Oh well, the grips are on, and they work great. I only brought this up to save someone some trouble down the line. I'm sure I'm not the only one with missing instructions/wiring diagram.
