I wouldn't bother. Go to the AC dealer, buy a new heater and grip, and replace them. I recall Yamaha sells them in pairs, AC sells per side. Mine died before a trip in the coldest part of last winter, I had it replaced in a couple hours. There's not much to troubleshoot, when you can replace it that fast for cheap. It's plug and play.

X2 Agree...I would check the connection to the grip first as it can get corroded some times but usually the element needs to be replaced.I wouldn't bother. Go with the 17 grips. The warmers will burn your hands if wearing thin gloves! Also certain year cats have really inexpensive heater elements others are more$ ask your parts guy. They all work fine.
