Has anyone blown the 3amp fuse when using an electric shield plug into the 12v outlet? Happend to me twice on the same day, have an 06 attack and a scorpion helmet used only a few times. Any help would be appreciated.

That seems to be a problem with those accoes plugs. I hard wired mine to the battery with a 5 amp fuse at the battery and haven't had any problems since.

My friend has his shield wired this way...always seemed to get snow in it and moisture. I never cared for it.

I thought the Yami ones have a O ring on the plug to seal out moisture when connected.

It is the 3amp fuse on the snowmobile, don't know that I want to try a bigger fuse, wouldn't you take a chance of burning up the wire

I had the same thing on my 06 Apex. Blew the fuse with the GPS plugged in. Blew the fuse with the heated shield. :o|
Instead of wasting time ( & $$$) looking for the problem, I just hard wired it right to the battery. ;)!
Yes I even tried larger fuses.
I did find that the battery on this sled lost power by July where the one on the Attak was okay.

Yep, Just throw the 10 amp fuse in and be done with it. Every Yami guy I know has had the same problem.

Watch upping the amp of the fuses. I have seen holes burnt in seats because of this. Mind you it was on a 05 Mach. You have to be cautious with the connections for the heated visors. If you get snow in them when you stop for a break you'll have nothing but problems. Try and get the wires with the foot long lead so you only have 2 feet of cord off your helmet and a foot left on the sled.

I blew fuses all the time my first few rides. They blew when you connected the two plugs together while the sled was running. I then made sure the helmet and all plugs were plugged in prior to starting sled and never blew another one.

When you put in a 10 AMP fuse in this circuit, it is like putting in a penny in a fuse socket in your house. How many of us would do that?

The E-Shield should be wired direct to the battery with the fuse at the battery. You could also tap in at the Jumper cables.

A 10 AMP Fuse, may allow the wire to be ruined before the fuse blows. That is a lot of load on such a small wire. While that Aux Power Socket may look like a cigarette Lighter socket, it is not wired like one. And, if you are blowing fuses because of water intrusion, you have a short. It seems like you would want the fuse to blow. Again, that is why we do not put pennies in fuse sockets at home.
