I came across a guy last year in Quebec who had over 82,000km on his 07 apex, I didn't believe him till he showed me is odometer, I had to take a long look at the odometer to make sure I wasn't seeing things lol,
He also said he knows a few guys with over 50 000 with no major problems just wear and tear things, they are retired and ride almost every day...

Has nothing to do with the colour scheme more to do with the body panels. If it were the colour scheme I would have changed it with a wrap.Grimm said:I mean the 1200 is ugly compared to the xp and xs, they are much nicer looking. The ergos on my viper for me were better than the 1200.
Would this be more to your liking?

Kinda hope I can find a decent deal on a well taken care of phazer for my wife and get rid of my rx1.

I've ridden several 1200 doos. I like them a lot, my only issue is that they don't have the low end bring that the nytro or vector has. My favorite was the gsx 1200 ltd with the rmotion. If I were to buy a doo right now that would be the one.
The 1200 leaves a lot of performance on the take with a single throttle body and a restrictive exhaust. And I was saying that long before the Lester's were saying that.

The other Cat versions have been by Suzuki, Polaris has none other than the Weber built engine, and Ski-Doo's 1200 was co-developed by McLaren the formula 1 car builder in Europe. There is more potential in the 1200 being it uses single throttle body which does hold it back some. Plus it may have one less cylinder than an Apex but it has 200 more cc's.
What really tells you what a motor is made out of is looking at the outfits like OSP. They can get over 100 HP more in full mod turbo applications out of the Apex motor over the Doo and the Cat motor.
Although, the 1200 is built by Rotax, the 600 & 900 Ace motors are 100% Rotax designed and built.

What is the HP on that 1200. The Rotax 1200 appears to be a reverse engineered Yamaha 1050 motor. They have less ponies than the Viper or the Nytro. They have not shown much at performance. Then again I never see to many of them. Most of the yellow crowd wants their two smoke grenades.

I think the 900 is rated at 90 hp and the 1200 is 130 hp, do not quote me though, others may chime in.

I guess this is my point. It seems everyone else has to throw more cc's at their 4 strokes to get the HP out of them. Yes the 1200 is around 130 HP but is 150-200 cc's more than the Nytro/Vector/Viper and the Apex motors.
Now Ski-Doo does build a lighter skid no doubt ,but I know for a fact they can't take a hit like a Yamaha can. I know of one shop that has replaced a bucket load of the bulkheads, some from hitting a chunk of ice with a ski that wouldn't even phase an Apex. In fact he has said their frames are made to tear apart and replacing them is a normal occurrence. I stopped by one time and he had like 3-4 tore apart getting new bulkheads.
I know a few guys that have Doo 1200s' and they love them.

I have sat on xp 800 cannot remember the year possibly a 2009 and the floor boards sure flexed when I got on it, mind you I am around 250 without gear so that may be the reason.journeyman said:Nytro40th said:I think the 900 is rated at 90 hp and the 1200 is 130 hp, do not quote me though, others may chime in.

I got the chance to take a short ride on a renegade 1200 with rmotion the other day. We road all day together and at the end of the day I drove it a little bit.
My first impressions were that it was a more plush sled to ride. A good part of that becaues of the seat though I do beleive. I ride a nytro xtx so I was curious to see how it ranked up against it as I have considered a 1200 myself too. I felt that my nytro was more nimble. He said that himself too. I could carve and side hill better. I noticed that you sit a fair bit higher on the renegade then the nytro. I didn't feel that the torque was there compared to the nytro. My nytro I can lift the skis almost when ever I want. The Renegade I didn't get the feeling that I could do that. Part of that is probably because of my 1.75" backcountry track too but even on hard ground it just didn't seem to pull as hard as mine. I like the nytro motor better I think. That throttle hesitation kind of erked me a bit too. It was identical to the video that was posted. Fuel mileage was very comparable for the day. The holes to tuck your boots into I thought were a little bit too. My nytro fits my boots a little tighter and for certain things I think that works better. Riding position for me was just a little better on the renegade thanks to the higher seating position. My legs went straight down where as my nytro I find my legs ever so slightly bent.
All in all I thought it was a nice touring sled. It's better then the nytro at some things and the nytro is better then the renegade 1200 at some things.
