Have you ever noticed that the Apex is the most "Hated on" sled on all internet boards, especially on doo talk? Yet everytime I ride I have people always asking me how I like my sled. I let some of those people ride it and they are amazed by it?? Many so the so called "brand loyal" riders even switch over and by one. So my question is my does everyone "hate on" Apexes? What is your opinion? Have you had this happen to you before?

It's a ski-doo thing. I've had a lot of ski-doo guys rag on me about my Apex but I don't really care. I find that people who rag on others are usually jeolous! Remember this. Many snowmobilers still have a hard time believing that 4 strokes are the wave of the future, that is until they get on one and then they change their tune.

:yam: :4STroke:

Like Sawsalesman said, it is just jealousy! They are just angry cause when you ride together everyone looks at your sled and not their's.

I am a freshly converted 4 stroker and am noticing this attitude already. I LOVE IT!!!!!

Yup, and look, I can not believe how many people bought the new 800xp!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OR, posts like 'why does my MachZ 1000 keep blowing up?'!!!!!!!

Why would someone even buy a used MachZ???????

We could probably doo without these people riding Yammys!!!!!!!

Jealousy. I was true yellow, nothing but. I still respect Doo, but anyone who can't admit the apex's are really very good snowmobiles, and a blast to ride, is just blind. The fact that these 4 strokes run with or better than many 2 strokes burns them no end, especially figuring 2 strokes had 40 years to get 'perfected' and yet they are still failing at regular intervals. The hi po 4's have been, what, 5 years development? Amazing. That's why they're ticked. In another 5, just think of how they'll be.

Sawsalesman, what kind of saws? Just curious.

I sell large bandsaws ranging from 30' long x 10" wide up to 47' x 14" wide. These are used in high production sawmills all over the world. I also sell the equipment to maintain the saws. It's a great business to be in except for all the travelling. We have customers in NY and PA and I spend a lot of time in PA but live in NH.

Jelousy is the answer the question.

Thanks. I have a Lucas Mill swingblade, but send the 21" diameter blades to Oregon to get retipped.
Gotta love the smell of sawdust..lol

SumpBuster, another comment I have read is, 'where will these 4 strokes be in 5 yrs (as 2 strokes are still here)?'. 'How much money to rebuild'.

That meaning that we are yet to see the real cost of owning a 4stroke down the road!!

Well, I got news for you 2stroke guys, people ride motorcycles in the southern States 12 months of the year, and many have to the tune of 100000+ miles on their bikes without a hiccup. Try that with a 2smoke!

87, they are dreaming. 2 strokes have had their day...with all the technology and money over the years, and competition, this is the best they have? Slow 800's? Maybe they will need 1500 cc two strokes to compete. The 4 strokes are just starting in our sport..20 years ago in F1, a 1500 cc Renault Turbo had 1500 hp in qualifying trim, and around 1000 in race trim...20 years or more ago. Two strokes are beyond thier development curve.
I was a believer in 2 strokes forever too. Tossed in the fur cap, just like Ernie Skeptical..LOL.

I read there is a new 6 stroke engine being developed..interesting.

why did people hate dale earnhardt,jeff gordon,the yankees,the patriots,ect,ect

LOL! I had 2 people stop me and ask if my sled was an Apex. No, it isn't, it is a 2008 Vector LTX. Anyway, one of the guys who stopped me had a new 2008 Crossfire 1000 and he kept telling me how Yamaha builds the best engines and how he was thinking about picking up an Apex and that Cat had better get their head out of their arse and start building something better.

But I have to admit, when I was riding my Cat back in 2003 it was fun to pick on the weight and the over-optimistic speedo readings of the RX1-ton.

Sometimes when you're on the other side of the fence, you make fun of the things which you know nothing about.

I don't slow down long enough to see what others are saying about, or how they are looking at my sled. And if I did, I wouldn't care anyway. I know what I've got, and that is all I need to know.

I ride my sled and don't pay much attention to haters, most of the people I see out on the trails are just intrested in the sled and wanna chat about it :yam:
