Ok, airboss - you are definitely talking about the gear mesh thing.

this is what happens-the rod that goes through the tube just off of the reverse handle freezes from the extreme cold and you cant even pull the handle out to slide it into reverse-its totally different than the gear mesh issue-the reason the rod freezes is because after riding it in the cold you will notice a brake cooling duct in the hood-this lets snow dust into the reverse mechanism but the heat from the engine and brake and such keeps it slightly melted untill the sled is parked for a while and now the moisture between this rod and tube freezes it-if cured he problem with amsoil spray grease in the tube

Mine froze first couple times. I spray some Tri-Flow in the rod/tube linkage every so often. Have never had the probem since.
