i was trying to get my 03 rx1 off the trailer the other day, and the reverse was slipping and grinding really bad. It would not move in reverse, so i had to pull it off of the trailer. i had no issues riding in forward, but then i tried to use the reverse again and although the lever was in the reverse position and the beeper was going off, the sled went forward instead of in reverse; but this time, with no grinding at all.
Any idea what the issue could be? i just got back from a 200+ mile trip, where i did not experience any issues using reverse.

It most likely needs tightened. Mine did the same thing once. It might be time to take it apart and check everything.

Check the linkage arms that connects the reverse lever to he chaincase. A bolt was loose on mine and had the same symptom. I tightened everything up and all was good.
