I would like to know if a company has launch a headers for the new Apex. I know that it will sacrifice the EXUP but, maybe possible to get some more HP at the top end with a headers...

I've heard that some Apex who already have over 1000 miles, have some problems with the EXUP. Have you heard about that????

Hindle has just finished up a complete system for the 06-10 modles that eliminates the donuts/flex joints and seems to be very quiet ( from what I heard ) so they will field testing/dynoing it now before releaseing it to the public.

As for the 2011 stuff, when I last talked to Lang they were getting back to doing a system for it. The have a slipon setup that should be very quiet, much lighter and I'm sure will gain some ponies, it's a very cool looking piece. Lang plans on working on the header next which will eliminate EXUP but should not lose any mid range...Hindle has eliminated it from the bikes since Yamaha introduced it in 98 and have had no issues with power losses in the midrange.

Is there anywhere to read about this..I looked over there web site and didn't see anything...in fact I couldn't even find anything on sleds at all so am I just looking in the wrong spot.

Thanks

No, not really, I just hang out at the shop, thought I'd pass on the info as someone asked...I'm not usre when any of this will be avaiable..possibly not until next season...Lee will probably chime in with more details.

We still need to get the 2011 Apex back from Yamaha Canada. We designed the slip-on adapter and muffler but need to design the front pipes. We are currently field testing the 2006-2010 Apex system and hope to test on the dyno later this week.

I'm curious also? Loosing the EXUP Has got to loose some serious low to mid range. From what I've seen on my Apex "the Trap Door" Exhaust valve when fully open is totally above the exhaust stream. It is alot differant than the Butterfly style that I've seen on some sport bikes..Yamaha did a great job, I can't see where there is alot left on the plate...but I'm always Optimistic

We want to see picture of this new header/pipe as soon as you can ;)!

No more donuts!....... LaLaLa

Yes you are right, the EXUP system is great for low to mid range power however if you design a system properly, you can keep the same low to mid range power but gain top end power. Our objective with the Apex is to gain over 10hp at the top end without sacrificing any low or mid range power. We hope to even gain a little bit of power in the low to mid range.

I will send a picture once available however we thought that the 2006-2010 model was more important then the 2011 model therefore there might be a delay. We are still waiting to get the sled back from Yamaha Canada however I think it is on display at the Toronto boat show this weekend therefore another delay.

We will be eliminating the donuts on Apex systems however it is a little bit harder then the Nytro. Actually all exhaust fitments is tighter on the Apex over the Nytro.

Nothing with mine so far...but last season wasn't very good in my area for snow...probably 700 miles on my system.

For the EXUP problem, we will be fixed next week. We work with some dealers who wants to seriously helps us......testing, dyno...etc...
We will know if its a unik problem or a bug that all 2011 may have....

I have only 172 miles on my Apex yet and my RPM is at 10500rpm at top end. For now, it's working well... I hope it is a unique problem, and not a bug on all 2011 Apex...

News: Yamaha Canada are knowing now that the Exup cables wires system must be tuned every 2000km approx.
Next, the 2011 are running very lean...too lean!!!. But they cant change the ECU for the moment...maybe never...but its not a major problem.
Today, a dealer did some test with probes at the exit of the exhaust for sport bike and the numbers proove that the 2011 are too lean.
Too lean.....less power???????

And how the cables to be tuned and what is required for this?

How did your "donut free" joints work out so far...?
No dramas with cracks or anything like that...?

So there is only 700 miles of R&D on your Fx Nytro exhaust system??
How many Hindle Full exhaust systems are sold and out there with the "Donut Free" set up. Just curious because your saying the Apex will have the same configuration.
