Headers on Apex 2011???

News from yesterday!
Someone put his 2011 SE on the dyno and 151HP Max!!! On this same dyno, 2006-2010 had 142-144HP.....real world.
So 151HP with cold motor at 60°, At 90° it drops to 144HP.
So the supposed 163HP isnt real...just F**** #*$&@!
And the other models at 162-163HP....I dont trust this!

Tomorrow someone else with is 2011 SE with a dyno track.
THE problem, at 90% we know what it is. HEAT problem!
The temperature around the clutchs become to high after some hard runs, and there is slippage.
Many other Apex have this problem.
There is not enough air flow around the clutch for the 2011.
Why noboby found that earlier? Easy! Because just a few owner had enough km for runs WOT many times in a short time.

We still need to get the 2011 Apex back from Yamaha Canada. We designed the slip-on adapter and muffler but need to design the front pipes. We are currently field testing the 2006-2010 Apex system and hope to test on the dyno later this week.

Hi, what's new about the headers on 2011 Apex???? Will we have a headers available soon???

Hey Firestone "News: Yamaha Canada are knowing now that the Exup cables wires system must be tuned every 2000km approx.
Next, the 2011 are running very lean...too lean!!!. But they cant change the ECU for the moment...maybe never...but its not a major problem.
Today, a dealer did some test with probes at the exit of the exhaust for sport bike and the numbers proove that the 2011 are too lean.
Too lean.....less power??????? "
If Dynotech could get into the computer and modify the fuel flo, and get it safe to 162 HP, why cann,t everyone else buy a programmer do it ??? I,m sure Jim sells the programmer, and the program he used.

Donuts & Y-Pipe just went on my 07 Attak. Too bad the Hindle stuff wasn't available yet. Waht price range for the whol exhaust system are we looking at when completed?

Hard to say price wise...I'd be guessing a tad more than the Nytro..which is $900ish....on the upside...the full system with and airbox mod made 17+hp. I'll try to find out more from Lee today.

Ulmer are selling the Power Commander V for 2011 Apex. It is available and I'm sure that's what we need on the new Apex. I've tested my Apex in differents conditions last week and I can confirm that the new Apex is too lean...

Yes you are right, the EXUP system is great for low to mid range power however if you design a system properly, you can keep the same low to mid range power but gain top end power. Our objective with the Apex is to gain over 10hp at the top end without sacrificing any low or mid range power. We hope to even gain a little bit of power in the low to mid range.

I will send a picture once available however we thought that the 2006-2010 model was more important then the 2011 model therefore there might be a delay. We are still waiting to get the sled back from Yamaha Canada however I think it is on display at the Toronto boat show this weekend therefore another delay.

We will be eliminating the donuts on Apex systems however it is a little bit harder then the Nytro. Actually all exhaust fitments is tighter on the Apex over the Nytro.

Is the Apex 2011's headers available?????

I will have a proto 11+ Apex slip on here soon to test. Flow testing is done, waiting for dyno results.

I recently contacted Hindle regarding their 2011+ Apex header exhaust development. Here is the response I got:

"Thank you for taking the time to contact Hindle Exhaust Systems.

Unfortunately, we do not have the Apex exhaust system available at this time. It is still in testing/R&D as we were not completely satisfied with the prototypes that we have. We are hoping to have it available for Fall 2014.

I hope this information helps answer your questions. Please feel free to contact us at any time should you have any other questions about our products. We are here to help."

Are there any other Aftermarket companies developing a full exhaust system for the newer Apexes? As my sled gets older, I fear that I will have to replace my exhaust with stock components at retail prices, which aint pretty.

Ya kinda sucks doesn't seem to be much attention paid to the newer Apex's when it comes to bolt ons. Its a great sled I guess its not easy to get more out of it.
