Headlight replacement issue

I hope that’s not the correct price. $233 for one LED?? That’s $466 for two lights! I could buy 3.3 full rocktoyz HID kits for that. I think I just made my LED vs HID decision haha
The price is for a two lamp kit. The price is also way to high, and the original lamps from PIAA have been updated with a new part number. The new updated lamps are 6200k for the temp.

I have installed both HIDs and the LEDs. If you want the reliability and durability of an LED then my personal choice would be the PIAA brand.
If your planning on using HIDs then the Rocztoys HIDs would be my choice. I'm not really sure it is an; LED or HID, one system better than the other. Each has its pros and cons. Do your research. One accessory I think makes a huge improvement regardless of your lamps is the Headlight Adjuster from Rocztoys. Great product that really helps dial in your lights. When I'm on a bagger trip and I'm running a little extra weight on the tunnel I adjust them down and when I'm running light I adjust them back up.
Good luck.

If I did go with LED’s it would be PIAA, but for the price I think I’ll put and order in with Rocktoyz. In a few years the LED’s will probably be the way to go and there will be better options out there. A different company will find a way to build LED’s as good as the PIAA’s for half the price and then I’ll grab a pair. I’m definitely going to order the adjuster kit when I order my HID’s.

I have had Roc's HIDs in 6 different sleds now and can't say enough good things about his system and his service.
Recently had an issue with the set on my daughter's Viper. Texted Roc and in 20min had the problem diagnosed and he had a spare part in the mail that day!!

What was the nature of your issue?

I'm sure that you can't go wrong with Roc's HID's not to mention his dedication to his products and his customer service.

Any issue with moisture inside the housing or snow build up on the exterior with the lack of heat LED's give off? Not sure if one brand gives off more heat than another.

I'm not sure how many miles I have on my LEDs (at least 4.5k). I have not had any issues with snow build up or moisture. The heat from an LED is produced by the driver for the lamp and the driver is located outside of the housing.

I paid $89 for my Xenon LED headlights. I also have 2 seasons with no issues. I can't compare to others as I have not had enough seat time with them. But I would definitely buy Xenon again. I have bought other led lights from Superbrightleds and they worked well. $250 does seem quite expensive.

I've had these in my sled for over 2 seasons with 0 issues and no lens fogging, $69.95. A friend of mine with a 2014 Viper put them in last fall with 0 issues this season. I can't believe any LEDs are worth $150 let alone $250 - Yee Gads.

Superbright is a company I definitely trust and I like that these are fanless. I've had too much trouble with fan cooled LED's in extreme conditions before. How is the light colour with these? I noticed they are 7200k which is getting into the blue zone for lighting which I'm not a fan of.

They are not "blue" at all. They are listed as "cool white" and I think that is a good description. Call SB on the phone and address your concerns with them. They are always very helpful.

I shop Superbright all the time, great site and always helpful. 7200 seems a bit high but if it works for you, great. The PIAAs are a lot less than $250. The site that was $250 was ridiculous. In the spec for the SB brand lamps they list 12 LEDs total. You want to be careful about the LED count and the size of the driver. Fewer larger LEDs with an external driver is preferred. They also list a color temp of 7200. If the color is not blue to the naked eye then it is not probably not 7200k and more than likely if they listed the color wrong then what else is incorrect. R-Toyz makes a great product any most of the guys that install them seem very satisfied. A little something about lamp color and light wave length;

I thought it was high as well but I went ahead and ordered them. I'll let the group know my thoughts on them once I install them. I wasn't able to find the PIAA's anywhere for less than a couple hundred dollars here in Canada. They would have been my preference but not at that price.
