Heat Shields on 2003 RX-1

I was wondering if anyone knows how to quiet these things down and if not, can they be removed without causing any problems to the sled.

you can remove them without any problems at all.i think the newer year sleds did away with them anyways (i think).

I have re-riveted mine twice there coming out next time i pull the skid. i'm pretty sure they removed them on the 04's.

In an effort to lighten mine up, I applied sawzall generously. Cut em off.

Removed mine two years ago on my 03 without a problem. Except no more rattle and i can hear everything else. :shock:

I removed the 3 heat shields last season on my 03 RX-1 and put on around 2000 miles without a problem. Ahhhhh no more aggrivating vibration noise.

Dealer here said they remove them when they have the skid out. 04's didn't have them.

we remove them when they get lose and now on any that have the skid out
