Hey guys, this is one great site. I have a 03 shortie (stock) other than a rip saw with 96 pics down the center. Just wondering if hh's alone make much difference over the stock weights. What gain could i expect? Are there different types of hh's? Will i need to change springs or secondary tension? After break in i pulled the tip rivits and ran a 45 degree cam with a green spring set at 70. Now it pulls 10200 off the line and peaks just under 105000 within 500 feet. I've run against a few 04 shorties and have a little more mid and top end. On 2500ft ice it hit 117.9 radar (233kms) speedo. I did 2 runs back to back with the same result ,117.9. Just wondering if it will give more. THANX.

Ibad why do you think you wasted your money on the HH's.I to will agree that once the sled is broken in the stocks weights aren't bad but side by side races with a buddy show me that the HH's were better from 0-60 3-4 sled legths better then stock.I also didn't bolt them in and go took some tinkering to get the weight set right with the proper spring and tension.

I am not a clutch expert, so i bought them from CPR and had them
tune to my weight and what i was going to be doing with my WARRIOR.
The sled felt lazy all the through and the rpm was never over 10200.
I checked it with a radar gun on the Lake and the mph was still at 104.
Called up Jeff and he gave me some helpful hints. I ended up taking it
off and installed the stock items back in it with a different primary
spring and the radar gun got it a 109-111. I got frustrated with the kit
and got tired of messing around with it and kept it off. It could be
just my lack of clutch experience that made the whole ordeal a
nightmare. Just my thought of the $399.00 kit. c u later.

Usually when a sled feels lazy it is in fact faster. When it feels zippy you are probably not loading the motor enuff & even tho it feels faster by the seat of the pants in reality it is slower. To honestly check speed by radar you must test the same sled, same track, same day, same conditions. You can lose 5-10 mph from day to day by changing conditions. 10,200 rpm is the sweet spot on the RX-1. I have purposely clutched mine to run higher rpm,s but when tested even tho it feels faster at higher rpm,s it is slower.

1badad1, hopefully we can meet up on a ty ride this year, i would like to take your sled for a ride, i'm not sure why your sled isn't responing as other rx-1s do. but if i had a chance to ride it i'm sure i could figure it out for you. sometimes its hard to pick up on the little things that can make the clutching go screwey over the phone. sorry i wasn't able to help you out over the phone. but maybe well hook up this year. jeff

heavy hitters

Jeff, I will have it fixed by then. (hopefully)
What did you decide on my spring that I sent back to you for inspection?
Is it bad? If its faulty could you please send me a new one. I would rather
have a RX-1 Mountain spring instead. Still waiting on your decision..
Call me if ther is a problem.

pm me your phone number or call me on fri after 5:00 pm. 414-698--6611 thanks jeff
