it needs to have helmet mount for

race car rollbar mount 1 5/8or 1 1/ 2
1-how long do the batteries last in cold wheather
2-for a pro mod car how are they for vibration

I have looked at a few of them, and from what I found, there are 2 of them that appear pretty good.
The first one is a GoPro ( http://www.goprocamera.com/index4.htm ). I haven't actually held one of these, but the website has a large selection of samples along with all of the different mounting selections.
The second one it VHOLDR ( http://vholdr.com/ ). Site advertiser Sled Solutions also sells them. I did check these out at the Novi show and they appear to be very nice. The offer a website to store all of your videos (Size limits) free of charge. The rep said that the battery lasts about 2 hours in cold weather.
Check out those sites...they should get you started in the right direction.

I have a VIO.....their headquarters is here in 'da UP, eh!
Its a really nice unit. I used it quite a bit last winter, and it help up just fine.
Battery life is pretty good. I used rechargable 2700 mha NiMh batteries and they would last most of the day.
I have some video on the computer, but have not taken the time to get them loaded on 'da internet.

I have a GOPro. For $169.00 it is an awesome unit.
I do track days in the summer with a Gixxer 1K. I mount the camera on the tank with the supplied infinitely adjustable hardware. The camera is aimed through the windscreen with the tach and speedo at the bottom. You can read both with absolute clarity and see the track in front of you. Can't say enough about this unit. The batteries last me two days straight track days with 8 twenty minute sessions a day. I usually get two sessions on each 2G SD card, then download to my laptop. This unit takes lots of abuse and works flawless. I loaned the camera to a buddy and of course, he crashed.....The camera never shut off as the bike tumbled several times, and was unscathed.
No experience (until this coming snow season) with how it works in cold weather.

Here's a Helmet cam video, I did last season. Helmet Cam is the brand, used a dvr to record, lasted 3.5 hrs with a hand warmer to keep the battery warm. Enjoy

I was checking out the motocomm in Novi, I almost bought it. what is the video quality like? I like that you can actually see whar you are looking at through the video screen, it seems like with the vholdr, you would be hoping you get a good shot?
