Well im selling my 04&05 summits and want something newer and better, im going to have like 11-12k and i dont know wich way to go? Turbo apex or lightweight parts on an xp? I can pick up an apex stock for about 5-6k then have another 5-6k in turbo mods, xp for 75-8500 and have a few grand for some lightweight parts and clutching. OR...
i found a boosted apex out west with a built motor, balanced crank, corrillo rods, je pistons arp head studs, valve job, cam timing changed, boondocker 2860 kit with all the supporting mods for 11k. Or should i buy a stock Apex and get an MCX kit, because im really looking for a pumpgas turn key set up.
My cousin just picked up an 07 turbo apex with a 174 camo extreme, one of my friends has an IQ race chassis with an 800 tripple/ 162 ez ryde, light weight parts galore, and i have two more friends riding a Nytro and a Phazer that are sapose to be getting turboed before this winter.
Id say that the majority of our riding is striaght up hill climbing, we do some boondocking to get to the play areas or if the mnts are socked in up high. the skill level of most of the guys is about medium.
Everybody ive talked to says that once you put the turbo on the apex they feel light, untill your stuck, but idk if i believe them? I see lots of turbo selds for sale and not really any XP's out there?
wich way would you go?
thanks,
-Jesse

Since you going to be in the mountains (bottom less powder) it would be easer to dig out a lighter sled you could try the XP.
But If you want, what seems to be, one of the most reliable sleds on earth get the Apex.
Ether way I would go APEX and have it Turbo'd myself.
(Not saying theres anything wrong with the T-APEXs but I guess because of remembering the reliability of those old modded 2s I don't think I would buy a modded sled.)
Welcome to TY
Good luck with what ever you buy.

Right on! i figured it would be kinda one sided being a yamaha site but wanted to get your guys opinions(sp?). Im really dont know what i want to do yet?
What kit would you suggest geting for as close to trun key as posible? Obviously theres always going to be some tuning and what not but im coming from modded rev's and i was alway tinkering with them and i dont want to do that any more.

If you were talking stock vs stock i would say buy the XP..
But if you have a turboed Apex.. There would be no comparison..
You will leave your buddies in the dust so hard, they wont know what zip code your in..
