Vector has a lighter front end and steers a little easier.
Has good low and mid range grunt. Not going to have the legs to run with the 800 Doo on top.

If you have a friend, a renter or a dealer who can lent, rent you sleds do that.
What you should think of is in what conditions are you going to drive you're next sled. The Nytro and the Apex is not the same type of sleds.
The next thing is what is the goal of you're riding and so on.
No sled is perfect, far from but some are better than others in certain situations.
So my suggestion is that you try the sleds you are intrested in and try them in conditions similar to what you usually ride in.

AC CF8 SLP-stuff and very happy.

Apex all the way, if you get tired of the suspension and want something to take the abuse of moguls throw in a different one like the ZX2 this will make a whole new sled that will 'bang' with the best of them, maybe not quite as good as a ski doo race sled but they hold thier own. On top of that you can sit back relax and enjoy a nice trail ride. Then hit a lake and be the one that gets to brag about being first across.
Its a well rounded sled if your not afraid to put some money into the suspension to make it more of a cross over between rough trail, and groomed trail sled.

Thanks for your comment Banks93. Why do you say the vector won't wear you out as much as the Apex?
When you ride the two you can feel a big weight difference when you are turning. I guess I would say it might be the difference the EPS gives you on the Apex.
I rode my wifes 2009 Vector RS for the first time one night we were out on the trail in December for 20 miles and the next day I was in trading in the 2008 Apex for the EFI 2010 Vector GT LTX. I am guessing it is the engine position on the two. The Apex is more weight and is higher up making you feel it more in your upper body, shoulders and arms. The vector is a lot easier to steer and that makes it feel lighter. I don't think you will have any problem holding up to anyone. See the video of the Vector and Apex racing. It can hold with anything.

Of course it gets bumpy most of the time but mostly its the stutters that kill me. Coming from a Viper with very poor suspension anything will be better. I'm trying to keep up with my buddies who ride skidoo xp 800's. Will the Apex with more horsepower but not as good of suspension be better or the Nytro that is the opposite. Thanks for your help guys!!!![]()
Buy a Doo!!! Unless you want to sped 15k on the New Apex Se.

So he can blow his engine up after 1000 miles and waste 3-4 weeks waiting for parts from ski doo. You might as well buy a ditch pickle(AC) at least you would be riding.
From what you posted I would say your best ride would be the Vector GT LTX.

If I were you I would seriously look at the vector. I have a nytro and I think the potential is there and I can see it coming with changes and adjustments but its gonna take a while and some cashola to make it into the sled it should be. The apex is a sweet ride with a beautiful motor but can be alot to handle when it gets tight. It sounds like the vecto is better handling sled than the apex, cheaper, and has more low end torque. If they would have had fuel injection on the 09 vectors I would have one in my garage.

Will the Vector run with apex? If so how long and what's it's top speed?

IMO - Buying a Nytro over Apex would be HUGE mistake unless all your planning on doing is riding the nasties. If you only ride rough terrain once in a while, go with the APEX. I have spent time on both and I love to ride HARD but for me there is no comparison!
JUST MAKE SURE YOU SHIM YOUR FRONT SHOCKS! THAT MOD WILL TRANSFORM THE SLED!!!

The nytro xtx is the only sled i owned that will stay with my buds doo,s. It is for very aggressive riders only. If your a groomed trail rider buy an apex. My 09 xtx is the 1st yammie I will be keeping for 3 years. I live to ride this sled every day & i & yes..i ride with 3 1200 do,s. The doo,s are Tanks in powder & can,t wheelie in the ruff stuff like the xtx.

Darn, I thought I would be able to buy your XTX all dialed in for a song...... I guess I'll have to try and find another one! Good to hear you like it though

X2 My bud just picked up a 1200 doo, and the xtx feels way more athletic than his doo, and the xtx is faster out on the lake too! The 1200 feels like the motor is mounted on the front bumper. My impression of the doo is it makes for a nice grampa sled.

I would say to go with the apex if you a a crossover rider. Go with the nytro if you ride only rough trails.
The nytro requires the rider to always be on top of things. It requires alot more rider input and needs to be "riden" The apex in real world trail conditions is a much better trail sled IMO. I have been riding the apex locally for a good 500 miles and I have to say its great so far. You can sit back and ride relaxed and enjoy a great trail, or you can beat the snot out of it when the trail gets rough and full of moguls. Either way the sled seems to be very happy. For rougher trail riding the apex with need a good shock revlave and maybe bigger spring for the rear though. But compared to the 2,000 my old rev required to even ride decent, 150.00-250.00 for shock upgrades are nothing to make this sled perfect.
NOW I will say that i think the vector may be the best choice all around for me in the future. The apex is awsome but heavy due to the motor. and made for more top end speed, i am more interested in low end. So from what Ive taken from this thread and a few others going with the vector in the future may be a better route for me. Same great trail sled, with lighter torqueyer motor.
the nytro, to me, is a track sled they tried to make work on trails. And it does, but requires a whole different style of riding, and lots of after market add ons to do so.

I ride a 2006 Apex RTX with the MonoShock and my buddy rides a 2008 Nytro RTX. Very different sleds. He had to dial his suspension to all of the softest settings just make it somewhat comfortable to ride. Also, the Nytro's seat is meant for an aggressive rider, not a day cruiser. My Apex is defnitely a trail cruiser - in 2006 they put a Mono in it, which is a joke on a rough-trail sled, IMO. However, I am glad I bought that year because it is the only year with the Fox floats up front and the Mono out back (I think). My Apex likes groomed trails with moderate bumps. In my experience, the Apex does not handle large bumps and speed well. Some of the other guys have good luck pounding the Apex in big bumps, but it is too heavy of a sled and just doesnt feel like it was meant for that type of labor. The Nytro loves those conditions - but it is not a comfortable sled to ride on groomed trails for 150+ miles. Is it uncomfortable? No. The APex is just far superior when compared.
I would go with the Vector LTX, if I were you. It's a little lighter for when you do beat it up in the bumps, it wont want to toss you as easily. Its basically just as fast up to 70 mph. And cheaper.
In the end, you are going to have to make a decision based on your riding style and needs...
Apex - good groomed trail sled that will soak up small to moderate bumps like no other suspension - and I am not exaggerating - but doesn't handle big bumps well. Unlimited torque 0-100 mph. Nytro may beat it up to 70 (my buddy's does), but after that, the Apex still pulls as hard as does at 30.
Nytro - good for woods trails and aggressive, large bump riders. Not as comfortable on smooth trails, not as comfortable to ride long distance. Neck snapping torque like nothing you've ever ridden until about 60 mph.
Vector - Same comfort as Apex with slightly more large bump capability. Not as powerful as either Nytro or Apex. Probably will not beat an 800 Doo past 60-70. Disclaimer: I have never ridden a Vector. Going by a combination of what I've read, seen and heard other say about them.
Good luck! Let us know what you buy!
