I am seriously considering a jump from Doo to Yami, I have owned quite a few Y's and I absolutely loved my SRX, except the bump ability. That said, I am in between a MXZX 800R and a Nytro SE. Based on what I read comparing what folks say about the O8 models, in particular the handling, I believe the XP Rev chasssis is a much more capable handling sled. I am now considering the Nytro for a bunch of reasons that are likely obvious to all of you on a Yamaha site. Has anyone ridden an 09 that can give an educated evaluation of the handling compared to an 08, I know there have been lots of chnages?

Thanks

i have riden the RTX SE and all i can say is you will not be disappointed. this sled absolutely kicks but in the jumps and moguls. i dont have alot of time on the XP so i cant compare. from what i have read the nytro handles the bumps way better than the XP. you will love the motor also.

Thanks for the reply, I really like the sled, I saw it in NH last night. Again, my only reservation is the handling, I LOVE to blast hardpacked trails and really like a sled that is glued down. I really think, by what I have read that the power from 0-80mph is very close to the 800 XP, the warranty is better and with the $600 in accessories and all the "special" spring stuff its a pretty good deal since I see most folks are paying under $10K. I hope a few more folks post on their opinions for me!

they completely changed the front geometry from 08 to 09 i head a guy on here say it was totally solved and super tracks states you cant drive 20 feet without noticing the handling difference

Yeah, I am really starting to lean back to the REV XP, I have been reading everything I can get my hands on and I am not sure what I would be gaining by "gambling" on the Nytro. I like the looks of it, love the warrranty and I really like Yamaha products. But, the 800R is faster, gets similar fuel mileage, handles better and I know I'll like the ergos since my sled of late was an REV X Sled. I really like what I read about the torque of the 4 strokes and I think the Nytro must have great corner to corner power but that is negated by that really small gas tank, something I wasn't taking into account until I read a bunch of posts last night. Not decided yet, but the clock is ticking!

I ride with 6 xp,s.I don,t want to start listing issues plus their mileage ain,t the same as my nytro! Just a heads up. My Nytro has been dead nutz reliable(zero issues) & after some clutching it,s amazing in 660',

I think the Nytro's seating positions is much similar to the rev then the REV XP is to the REV. I personally don't like the position of the XP. Siting to standing transition is not fluent as the NYTRO is. Sitting position on the NYTRO is my favorite of any sled.

The 800r will have more top speed. The gas mileage on the nytro is amazing. If only it had a larger tank. I get at least the mileage my friends get on the SDI's if not better by a few bucks. And I'm not sure but I'd think the SDI is better then the 800r.

Part of the reason it's good on gas is because your not having to rev it up soo much to get the power out of it.

It's also WAY better on BELTS then the 600sdi's again I'd imagine its better then the 800r's also.

that being said the 800r will take the Nytro out of the hole and stay out in front the whole time. Stock for stock of course.

also keep in mind that the SE gets a deeper keel ski and more aggresive carbides. All of that really gets this thing to rail in the corners with no ski lift. big, big improvement over 08. i get 120 miles on my nytro per tank, aggresive riding.

That's like 16.35 MPG,that is excellent Fuel economy.

Well, you have me taking a second look at going with the Yamaha. Again, the main concern is the handling, based on what I read about the 08's I wouldn't even consider it. BUT, the 09's are supposed to be so much better and I have just been trying to get the most up to date opinion of those who have ridden both. Something tells me this is going down to the wire!

YOU CAN NOT COMPAIR THE 08S TO THE 09S THERE COMPELETY DIFFERENT FRONT ENDS!!! I DROVE THE 08 NYTRO AND I THOUT IT WAS GOOD TO BEGIN WITH THATS WHY IM PUTING MY 500 DOWN THIS WEEK

I am in MA and late yesterday I called the local Yamaha dealer that I have bought from in the past. The OTD price I am getting is $10,500 on the RTX SE. I see a bunch of folks saying they are getting pricing in the $9800 range. According to the dealer I spoke with, you could take another $300 instead of taking the $600 accessories, supposidly what Yamaha allows them, makes sense because there is likey a 100% markup. But, am I missing something or is the dealer just not giving me good pricing. I have been surprised right along at the folks saying they are getting almost $1500 off retail, I have never seen that before in this area.......
