Hey guys, first post on this site. First year of snowmobiling for me and my family so any help and discussions will be greatly appreciated on my end. I bought this 2005 vector with 4998 km on it, and had some immediate problems that were taken care of. Luckily saved it before the engine blew from the engine overheating. I took it to our local dealer in Collingwood and since its been back I seem to be adding coolant every time I want to take the family riding.
Our dealer told me that we will not need to replace coolant or oil for the entire season. So any help on this issue will be appreciated.
Now it should be noted that we cannot find a leak, and have it stored indoors and thawed out every night and we have never found coolant on the ground anywhere around the sled.
The dealer also had to replace the starter since it melted, the oil tank since the cap melted to the threads of the tank inside of it, all plugs were replaced and the top end of the engine was taken off to check compression and then everything was reassembled, drive shaft bearings were replaced. The sled was completely reassembled with fresh oil and coolant but now the coolant is gone. And another two containers I bought separately.
Please throw me some ideas for this to check. I have a shop full of tools ready to take a look for anything you guys suggest. Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks fellow TY'rs

did you pressure check the cooling system?A leak may appear when it is pressurized. Here is the service manual for the vector if you need it, download here.

I know my 05 vector will lose antifreeze out of the overflow if it is over full. If there is more than about a quarter inch in the bottle when it's cold then it will blow out when it gets hot.
When it's down to where you can just barely see it in the bottom then it will stay at that level. Way below where you think it should be.

Thanks guys, I will do the pressure check tonight.
And i'll pour in just enough to see it in the reservoir if it is not a pressure related problem and check that.
Any other help would be greatly appreciated, we have over 4 feet of snow on the ground here in my area, I want to get back to trouble free riding!

I forgot to say that my 06 vector used to do the same thing as parker77"s I would top it up and it was gone at the end of the ride,so I stopped putting it in and it was fine.

Can anything bad happen from just leaving it empty. I am going to take it into a dealership because I don't have the proper pressure gauge. I think there is some coolant in the system but how can I be sure of this?

Start your sled, let it warm up, if the temp light doesn't come on you should be fine. If you want to make sure there is coolant in your system you can feel the heat exchangers under the running boards, if they get warm after a few minutes you are good!
