my '05 RS Venture keeps flashing code 84 (TORS). I'm stuck 20 miles from home. How do I disable/override this?

the connection are under the handlebar pad. disconnect the two that go to the throttle position sensor and reconnect to themselves

Check to make sure your speedo sensor is still in place and check to make sure the speedo gear has not fallen off the drive shaft.
Check to make sure the throttle switch is moving properly. There is a reason why it went off, sometimes its a quick fix!

I bypassed it & it got mr home with no more issue. I'll dig into it tomorrow to figure out the problem.
Once it started acting up I adjusted the free play in the throttle cable. Sometimes it would be ok but 100' later it would happen again.
Fortunately I had my smartphone & could reach out to TY for help :-$
