I've had Floats in the front before so thats all set but new to the MegaFloat. I ride real aggressive and need help with that. I'm 250 or so all suited up. Also I hear the newer models have a 12mm sway bar is it worth installing my 13mm I have? Also the sled came with Curve XS skis and I have never tried these skis. Will it rail with these skis? I also have a set of Pilots which ski is better? limiter strap? Whats everyone running? I know alot of this is gonna be trial and error but would like a good starting point for a baseline. Future mods once I sell my PC3 and ING Module is to get a Ulmer PC5. I also have a choice of clutch kits a Ulmer Stage 2 a Drag n Flies and 2 speed HC. Anyone use any of these kits in the newer Apexes? Thanks for all the help ride safe but ride like hell.

Ride it and then start tuning everything!!!!!!!!!! Have Fun!!!!!!!!

I also have a 2011 Apex SE, I put the 13mm sway bar on mine, and also tightened up the Limiter strap one hole. I think both helped a little. I also have Curve skis on mine. I like the set up, but if you want a sled to rail, go buy a 10 year old sled that has trailing arms. I always liked the trailing arms a lot better then the A arms. I have not done any clutch mods.

Tuner skis with 6 inch square on the outsude and 4 inch round on the inside will make the sled rail; trust me. I also have my strap pulled up one hole. Anymore and you start sacrificing suspension travel. As I've said before, the machine is a monster as it is. There's really no need to throw performance bucks at it.

Pull up one hole on the limiter. [It comes full length from Yamaha]
Tranfer rod to 1 line off of Max or Max.
Try starting at 180 in the Mega for your weight and Style and tweak from there. [I run 158 psi but go 40 lbs lighter than you and I am now moderately agressive.]
FYI I run 58 psi in the front two.

BTW. Stock clutching is very good.

I was wondering if they came from the factory at the top hole in the limiter strap so just go down one set of holes and I set my mega at 185 for starters. I'll see how the front is tonight. On my other sleds I ran in the 55 to 60 area if I remember right. I may leave my 13mm sway bar out for now and see how it handles with the Curve skis. Always ran pilots or Simmons before how are the Curves compared to the pilots? I normally have my transfer right in the area Riceburner suggested so now just need snow and lots of it. Christ is was 50 degrees here today and same tomorrow ... Maybe take the one of my HDs out and finish smokin the tire off.....

Sean just picked up the sled used from a dealer in NH and its got a set of 6 inch shapers on them which I've run in the past and like them very much. I never tried your skis before but from the looks of them I think I will really like them alot. The previous owner left the limiter strap at the top setting stock setting I believe gonna go down one set to start and set my floats at 60. Any other advice or things to try after I get it on some snow. Oh yeah PC5 just ordered from Allen and some clutching advice from him also Thanks again Allen and thanks Sean for the interest even though I didn't buy your skis it shows your commitment that very high marks in my book. Oh yeah praying for snow but yesterday was 50 so took the Road King out and finished smoking the tire off of it .......

With my Ohlin monoshock from 07 I was told to set the suspension up with 40-45mm of spring compression with the driver sitting on the sled. This balanced the sled properly for the driver weight. So with the 11 I lifted the rear of the sled off the ground, wrapped a zip tie around the Mega shaft, set it back down, sat on it(with extra weight for boots, suit etc.) then measured how far the zip tie had slid back. I added air accordingly untill this 40-45mm measurement was reached. I am not sure if this measurement applies to the Megafloat also or was for springed monos only??? But this is were I started, have not ridden it yet tho.
