Hey guys im hooking up my HID's and got a couple questions... theres 2 black wires, do they both go to seperate grounds ?? And does it matter where they go? I assume the red goes to the Battery... and Where is everybody mounting the Ballasts and the relay box??? Pics would be a great help.. Thanks alot... this is on a 09 XTX....

I installed the Sled Start ballasts to the inside of the radiator shroud and grounded them to the radiator mounting bracket. The relay can be mounted to the back side of the speedometer pod which keeps it out of the weather. If you install a DDM set you can make mounting brackets and install them like I did.

I did the exact same mounting set-up as Grizz did. Worked just fine. I grounded my ballasts with the bolts that hold the bracket/airbox.

I have sledstart hid's and does the red go to the battery positive side??? and i assume the 2 black ones go to 2 differant grounds???

I mounted the ballast from sledstart on the outside of the thin plastics that will be on both sides of your headlights. Drilled 3 holes through the plastic, and bought stainless screw and locknuts. Looks real clean and does not rub on the the hood foams.

I'd put the red on the battery side of the starter relay as shown in the diagram and the two blacks are grounds for each ballast.

Me too, but I think your talking bout the Rad plastic side covers

What is the difference between the DMM HID and SledStarts HID? There is a huge difference in cost so there must me something right? I paid over $200 for my HID's from SledStart! Tell me I got a better product. They look pretty much the same though!

sledstart probably has higher end components to it but ddm has replace the ballasts for my ford free of charge, they have great customer service and helped me out

My relay from DDM was junk right out of the box. Lights came on, and never shut off. I called them up and they sent a new one, no problems whatsoever. Seem to work, other than high beam appears to suck due to the reflector design of the headlight/headlamp.
