Hidden Grease Fittings

Just pulled the front end off my 2011 to replace all the front end bushings, some powder coating and to do some chroming. What I found was that the lower A arm bolts that pass thru the bulkhead have grease fittings in the end of them to grease the front bushing. They are hard to get at below the eps module in the front nose cone. I doubt that I am the first to notice this on here.
BTW with over 17,000kms on the machine the only bushings showing any wear at all are the upper shocks. On the 2007 gt, they were all very tired after 12,000kms.

Take out 6 screws and remove the plastic panel directly under the front bumper. You can grease those fittings a lot easier.

I believe the front A-arm bushings are the same from 2006 - 2015. Yamaha added grease fittings to the arms in 2010, but one of the lower A-arm grease fittings (#53 in pic) is hidden in the nose. I remove the plastic panel under the front bumper and grease them once, maybe twice a season.

Seems like I have been too busy and not able to log the miles these last few seasons.

well this is good info cause i had no idea they were inside the hood like that! I have been thinking of pulling my a-arms to get them powder coated but was thinking of holding off till the sell had more miles and needed to have the bushing replaced. what to do what to do haha.

Just did my bushings last week and noticed the same thing. Put it back together and the front is now solid. I thought about sending the A-arms for powder coating, then decided not to cuz they really weren't bad at all.

I painted my lower a- arms with spray on bed liner. Looks awesome and very durable.

Can you get that in different colors?

I know rhino lining can be tinted to any colour you need. I mainly use the spray bomb black when I use it.
